  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I picked up my new 2009 Genesis w/Technology Package in Cabernet Red with Cashmere interior. I paid $39,500 ($500 below MSRP). My hope is this car will retain the high level of interest / demand in the coming years as the resale value will hold up better. Time will tell.

So far, I love the car. I've paired my BlueTooth phone but was disappointed it did not download my phonebook. Regardless, the phone interface is easy to learn and easy to use. The seat memories and XM presets have been programmed along with some basics in the Nav system. It will take a few weeks / months to fully customize the car's technological capabilities to my needs.

I recommend taking the time to read both owner's manuals. These will take time and perseverance but will likely help anyone fully appreciate Hyundai's rich feature list, especially if equipped with the Technology Package. I wish the hard drive had the capability to rip my music collection like the Cadillac CTS. Maybe that will be a programming upgrade available at a later date. One could hope.

Congrats Bob! Enjoy the ride and remember...pictures, pictures, pictures!!!:D

Congrats

I bet that's a beautiful color combination. Red w/ beige interior.

Sounds loaded and below MSRP!

Welcome aboard, Bob! Thank you for signing up and congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis! Do post pictures when you find some time...

I thought the contacts appeared on the screen allowing you to select one and dial. That's not the case?

Once a contact is programmed in, just select and dial. I thought when pairing your BlueTooth phone, the Genesis would also download my contact list from my phone as well. It didn't. It's also possible my phone lacks that functionality.

Welcome Bob, and congrats on the new wheels. Sounds like a beautiful color combo. I'm about a week ahead of you in figuring out the tech pak. With the phone, the only thing that gets displayed is Name and Phone Number. The car does a lookup on the caller ID phone number and trys to find a match in the Car Phone Book. If your car phone book doesn't get a match, and you receive a call, it just says "incoming call" in the display. If it gets a match, it displays exactly what you typed into the Car Phone Book. The problem in syncing to the phone is the phone address book holds more than the car one. For one contact on my Razr I can have home, cell, email, etc. If there were a download to the car it would have no clue what to store. I found it useful to use multiple entries like: "Bob & Jane" would be their house, "Bob's Cell" , "Jane's Cell", etc. Makes the incoming call display real clear.
