  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

On my way home from work at a stop light the engine started running really rough. I mean as in missing 1 or 2 cylinders. Very low on power, almost seemed like I had the V6. :D I was close to the dealership so I went straight there with it. As it was like 4:58 and they close at 5:00, they will put in on the computer tomorrow morning to see what went wrong. My gut feeling is a coil pack died but will inform all of the outcome tomorrow. Now I have to go find a paper bag to put over my head as I need to drive my wife's Nissan cube to work tomorrow as the dealership had no loaners available. :o

I have a '95 dented up Caddy with a wonky transmission I could lend ye. :D

Also could be bad gas. Or fuel pressure problem. Let us know what problem was found and what codes it showed.

did they get you a loaner car yet? How many miles did you have on the car?

Nope, still using the paper bag. :D 12,000km (7,500 miles)

What if the loaner is a V6 Genesis? ... Oops wrong thread. :D

Good news is according to the computers the part is available in Korea. Bad news is it turns out everything is closed in Korea until next Monday for some kind of holiday. They need to confirm availability and have it shipped so I may be looking at a week or more. Only loaner option is a $35 a day discount rental car which is included in the warranty claim so it looks like I will be driving an econobox for a bit. :roll eyes: No big deal, as they say, shit happens.

That sucks but take heart that you will now be more inline with your tortoise-like Genesis V6 brothers. Seriously though you can try a little trick I learned at some rental places. Go look at the rental car lot before making a reservation and see if they have any full size cars (late in the day is the best time). Make a reservation for a full size if they don't have one for VERY early the next day and if they don't get one, they will give you a model higher. When the front end of out Genny got beat up by truck retread and we needed a rental, we asked for a full size (Taurus) but ended up driving a Lincoln Navigator for the full size price because they didn't have a full size when we needed it.

Well its obvious that you must get your wife a Range Rover.

That's better than a Cube :D

Well they gave me a Chevy Cruz. To be honest, I'd rather have the cube. ;)

Me too. Hope they get your Genny back to you quickly and as good as new.
