  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Having solved the re-routing of the Nav system with input from users here, I have two more questions <at least for the moment>.

1. Phone - I have read and re-read the manual but cannot figure how to make a picklist or give a *.1-2.3 for frequently called numbers

2. - Nav. I have set my home destination in the settings but am having trouble using the voice system. I switch into the Nav and have not figured out what phrase I have to use to get me home. I have said things like, nav-home, or nab-destination-home, or nav-destination-address book. Is there a correct phraseology that I can just somehow say Home, and it will understand me ?

Although, I do enjoy cursing at her from time to time, maybe it is a surrogate for my wife <G>...

All you have to say is "navigate to home"

Easiest way to learn the voice commands is to push the voice control button on the wheel and say "Help". The system will then tell you all the types of commands (navi/radio/phone/etc.). From the list say one of the categories and then it will show you the individual commands.

Make sure you give your home number the name "home". Then to call home: push voice the command button and say "call home".

Same idea with the Nav system. To navigate home: enter home address, give it the home point of interest. Then push the voice command button and say "navigate home".

Be sure to not record your real address. Insert a street parallel of yours . If your car got stolen the theft will try to get your address and he know you're not at home ;-)

Hell the most valuable thing about my home *IS* the car.
