  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Recently, after going to my local car wash. I noticed that the workers were very rough in cleaning the navigation screen. They left light but noticeable scratches on my nav screen. I got to thinking of what would my screen look like in a few years?

So to further protect and maintain long term appearances. I installed an Ipad screen protector (Belkin clear screen). the Ipad screen protector had to be cut down to size. The final fit was perfect. Leaving minimal reflective glare in day and evening light. Screen with protector worked with no degradation in touch sensitivity.

Now if my screen gets scratched, I'll just replace with a new one.

Good idea - I noticed that the Nav screen coating is easily scratched as well!

Nice. Maybe a matte finish would work better, I find that Hyundai does not have enough of a "lip" on the dash, over the nav screen, to fully keep the sun from hitting the screen. My 09 Acura TL Nav screen was set deeper and would avoid a lot of the annoying glare. Thanks for the tip!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Awesome idea!!!

Also try getting some free scraps or samples from a window tinter. Clings by static.

Which models have touch screen NAV monitor. My 2012 Genesis does not.

What did you use as a template to cut it down? Did you use an exacto knife or something else?

Thanks! Looks good!

DMCPILOT I just used a measuring tape. I got the length and width measurements and made my cut markings directly onto the screen protector. Then cut out with scissors. Screen protector should look like a rectangle. Then apply to navigation screen.

Looks nice! Do you happen to remember the exact dimensions of the cut screen protector? Thanks!

also - did the new protector do anything to hide the scratches & marks that were already on the screen?

Just brilliant! I'll be placing an order for the screen protector now!

Thanks, Stanmahn! I ordered one tonight from fleabay - $8.45 shipped.

I ordered a custom fit screen protector for my 2015 DIS sys screen from NuShield a few days ago. They list it as 202mm x 113mm. The item was "DayVue for Hyundai Genesis Ultimate 2015 R19400038800000" It was a bit pricey but as custom fit and for auto installations thought I'd give it a try, Will update when it arrives. http://www.nushield.com/

Please let us know how it is when you get it.

Might be worth it for the nushield. What I would like to know is which of their products makes the most sense (dayvue or AAA) and should I remove whatever film is on there from the factory or just apply this right over it?

UPDATE
Just got the NuShield screen protector. After THOROUGHLY cleaning screen I installed the protector. It went on fairly easy with 1-2 mm space on each side. A little tricky lining it up on the screen with the recess, guess I have fat fingers.
Screen looks very sharp and bright, will have to wait and see how well it wears and cleans. Product came with thin film on each side, one covered adhesive side, and on covered exposed side. This protected adhesive until ready to install and then let me work out all air bubbles before removing outer surface film. I went with the DayVue after comparing options on the NuShield website, it seemed to be best choice for my needs.

Hi STANMANH

Looks nice! Do you happen to remember the exact dimensions of the cut screen protector? Thanks!

Hi STANMANH

I don't know the dimensions. I just bought an iPad 9.7 inch screen protector and used a ruler to estimate size.
Screen protector has been on my car for about a year now and no issues at all. Looks like the 1st day I installed. I used Power Support screen protector. Don't skimp on quality of protector. Unless you want to regularly keep replacing it.
