  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi folks, I just bought a brand new 2012 3.8 tech gen a month ago . I am from Canada and was wondering if the Canadian model supports nag traffic ?????

Traffic information displayed on the nav is provided by Sirius/XM who receives the information from traffic devices employed by local & state transportation authorities. Short of it, it all depends on whether or not traffic tracking in your area (given such exists) is provided to Sirius/XM. I would contact Sirius/XM about their subscription limitations.

Interestingly enough, my nav continues to display (almost always incorrect) traffic warnings (congestion, accident, construction), even though I didn't continue my XM subscription after the free trial period. This has been going on for almost 3 years now. I don't travel much, and hardly ever use nav, but when I do I still get random warnings popping up.

Having had two Genesis with Nav, and living in Canada, I can tell you the TRAFFIC info is very limited and usually incorrect. Not worth a dime !

I concur, it's not worth paying for. The service is just not that good and the navi isn't smart enough to do anything with the info anyway.

Google Maps for iOS or Android is your friend;)

I've been ok with the nav traffic in the Twin Cities most of the time. I have compared it to my phone's Goggle maps, and the information is very similar. No, it doesn't reroute you like other manufacturers' dynamic road condition systems, but it has picked alternate non-congested routes for me many different times when the destination is first entered.
