  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Nav update- is it any good?

I bet there will be no HUD display for Android Auto so you'll lose functionality. I suspect the built-in system will satisfy your needs 99% of the time, especially if you use the Bluelink Google Search. For the outliers, use your phone.

I'd also say that if Android Auto or CarPlay are must haves, you might want to wait for the mid cycle upgrade in 2017 or 2018 as there is no guarantee the 2015 or 2016 will ever get them - the fact that the 2016 launched without them while the updated 2016 Honda Accord has both should be cause for concern that it will ever be refit to 2015/2016's.

i'm not getting the HUD display anyways. but yes, i am concerned that they didn't launch the 2016 with android auto. i'm certainly not waiting because of it, it's just annoying because they easily could've put it in the non high-end genesis models. i wish it was available on the grey market or something at least.

Google Maps or Waze through Android Auto will fix that - but use data too!

Waze is way better than on-board mapping, at least if you've got a workable cell signal. When you don't, the on-board nav is great, it keeps working. Now, if they just had something to display my phone on the screen on the dash.... (Android Auto doesn't count if they can't deliver...)

We moved into our house 10/30/13.

Picked up my 2015 Genesis Ultra last week.

My entire subdivision doesn't show up on the map. Two years folks.

In this day and age Automotive Navigation systems suck.

Moved to our new house in July 2011 and not on my nav either.

I find the display to be good, though maps are way out of date as are POI's. Voice activation is terrible. Directions are reasonable. As I said earlier my house is not on my cars map, I moved in July 2011 and restaurants that were gone when we moved in still show up on POI's. I also have 3 Garmin GPS, all included lifetime updates. The traffic on latest Garmin has quicker response time than my new Genny and thus much more useful. I tried to view the new updates but coulldn't access that part of website and hate to spend that kind of money on minor updates, especially if, upon entering my subdivision, to go off-road.

I like the built-in nav system, but it has a distressing habit of trying to direct you to parallel surface streets rather than freeways even when the distance to target makes it obvious that the freeway would be much faster. $300 for an update is, of course, stupidly overpriced. So overpriced it makes me think they priced it to keep people away. They really don't want to bother with updates, but if you pay them an outrageous fee they'll do it. Imagine if Apple Maps or Google Maps charged you such sums for updates. Other than the lack of on-screen output (which CarPlay should fix) Apple Maps with streaming audio over bluetooth is more accurate than the builtin nav anyway.

Indeed, considering the update for the 2015 is $219.

Expensive, but not $300 and with promo codes, even lower at times.

:o Eh, what are these promo codes you speak of? I think I might want to use one of these...

Have seen them referred to on other boards - usually not right after the release of a new version however. Have also heard of dealers have some promo codes at times.

I just bought my 2015. Is it possible that I already have the updated nav version or do all vehicles come with the non-updated version? Is there a version check function?
Thanks.

If any Signature or Tech users upgrade to Map version 9.5, it would be great if they can post back of any improvements in Voice Recognition or other functions.
