  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Navigation Map and Software Update Discussion Thread

My software update (via USB stick) all went well, until final installation. Wiped out entire Infotainment system screens. Now the car is pretty much unusable, as I can't even see the speed. The roadside assistance came quickly and did a hard reset (disconnected battery for 30 mins). No luck. Waiting on Genesis for next steps. The Genesis service is patchy. I live in London (great London population of 15 million), but no Genesis garage near by. Hyundai near by (3 miles) does not want to know. A recap of the issue attached, which I shared with Genesis support - just in case anyone out there has seen it and can guide. I personally find the 600+ page GV60 manual pretty useless. Having said all that, still love the car! A real piece of high quality engineering.

I agree and have so opined. It seems to just want to talk about how a feature can fail rather than how one can select or deselect a feature. For example, it took forever and trial and error for me to get the compass to show on the binnacle display.

Good luck. Sounds like your info system head unit got fried by the update.

There's a compass on the binnacle display? Did you actually figure out how to get it to display, or is it not something you could ever repeat or explain?

I think you press the bottom bar and can select a couple different views to get the compass. I agree the manual is not great.

I'm leaving work soon and will take a look and send a screenshot.

There's this compass in the widget center. Are there others?

I know. I have it up. I was using the compass as an example of what should be set forth clearly in the manual and was not.

There is another compass in the built in NAV Map. If you press the bottom bar of the NAV a screen with options will appear and you can select the left box to display or not display the compass.

I must be blind but I don't see the compass or the option in this screenshot?

You have to play around with the mouse and try depressing it which then brings up different options. Once you find it, lock it in with a press of the mouse button. As an aside, I also find the compass hard to read if the display is in daytime mode. On the other hand, in night time mode, it is crystal clear to me. So I have now chosen to have the nighttime mode my all time mode.

567 is the one I get in the display in front of me by using the mouse on the steering wheel (right side). I believe @skiingj was describing either another way to get this or a different compass but MDB is saying that he doesn't see the way to get there from the attached picture. I don't either.

Yes I quickly found it the next time I was in the car. I think I had seen it before but forgot about it because it's pretty hard to read. It's too skeumorphic, and also the projected angle makes it hard to read. I do like that it shows your elevation. That was responsive enough that it went up 25 feet as we crossed a bridge over the 405 freeway. It also indicated that a significant portion of my town is 3 feet below sea level! Who knows, that may even be accurate.

See post #567 above.
The X is the "left box" you can select to enable or disable the compass option. Since the X is visible it is currently disabled. When you get your GV60 you can check it out ;)

I finally saw it. it's tiny...in the lower status bar on the NAV but it's there! The one in widgets is better as it also has elevation which I quite like.

I really only use the built in NAV when needing to condition, especially since AA now works in the HUD. Genesis please add manual conditioning.

Can you please explain what conditioning is, newbie here!

It heats or cools the battery so that it is at the optimal temperature to receive the highest charging power by the time you get to a public DC fast charger.
