  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Navigation Map and Software Update Discussion Thread

Looks like the notification posted, but the Navigation Updater program is still downloading the old version.

It's possible they didn't expect so many sweaty nerds to try downloading it immediately. I'm gonna let it cook for a few days first.

Starting a new thread to discuss the 2024 1st Navigation Map and Software Update that just dropped for North America! Finally, the long wait is over!

Interestingly, it lists version JW.xxx.ccIC.001.007.240422 in the update for 23/24 GV60, which is the exact version we received via OTA a few months back.

Update: The vehicle started downloading version JW.USA.ccIC.001.009.240826 via OTA after being left in Utility Mode.

The update took exactly approx 2.5 hours to complete!

Preliminary Findings

Alright, I just wrapped up my preliminary testing and here are my findings!

The instrument screen CarPlay integration is absolutely gorgeous, and more than everything we could've ever hoped for from a vehicle update!

Here are some pictures, along with some interesting limitations:

The primary instrument panel navigation display, and HUD turn-by-turn instructions can be utilized by Apple Maps only.

When navigating via Apple Maps, you have to choose between having the instrument panel display the turn-by-turn, and touchscreen display full route info, or vice-versa. You cannot have turn-by-turn on both primary displays:

You can also enable Google Maps or Waze side-by-side with Apple Maps. Doing so will automatically switch the instrument panel Apple Maps navigation to turn-by-turn. When Google Maps or Waze begins navigation, the HUD turn-by-turn instructions will still provide Apple Maps instructions.

The updater said the new version was there, so I spent 20 mins downloading and copying to USB, only to have the car tell me it was the same version as already installed.

What a cciC tease!

Has anyone been able to install the new update and report back on the version number in vehicle? What are the changes you've noticed?
I’m betting that page hasn’t been updated yet because both the map and software versions listed match updates from May 2024. Seems that the notification is out, but the update isn’t live yet.

It looks like you're correct! I found the link to the April 2022 update, and the "List of Eligible Vehicles" list contains the exact same software versions across the board:

Update: Actually this may not be accurate, as it seems like they are using a javascript to pull the most recent updates for the posted bulletin, so that it always lists the latest software versions. This makes it impossible to do retroactive investigation unless we have saved screenshots from before.

I see on the landing page it shows 2024 update:

But when you click on the List of Eligible Vehicles, it still shows the 231109 version...

Grr! Were the only vehicle still showing a 2023 version.

This is the page to watch. Once that gets changed, it’s time to download install the update.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I'd imagine it will be OTA. I got my OTA update last week for my G80E and finally have wireless CP again. My wife's anxiously awaiting her GV60 update.

Yeah. Finally.

I feel like I should just drive around aimlessly for hours in the hopes that the download will complete in the background - it doesn't download otherwise! Wish there was some way to determine whether the OTA download was actually occurring...it seems you only get informed that it's there after the fact and it's ready to install.

I went to install this morning and I got a message saying the new version is the same as the current version from 5-14-2024 which was an OTA. I checked and the 9/11 does match, and I haven't choose to ignore and reinstall just curious why this would be and if anyone else saw this?
