I drove to Florida the week before Christmas and returned last Friday. While using the navigation, the screen is split, and on the right it shows upcoming exits and the services available, gas, food, and lodging. I usually get to Waltersboro SC the first day.
This trip I got as far as Savanah Georgia. The exit we took all the motels had no vacancy lights on. I tried to use the POI in the navigation to find motels nearby and along route, but each try the system returned "no matches found", all the while the screen is showing motels at each of the next three exits. What I wanted the system to do was call the hotels close by to see if there were vacancies rather than take each exit. No go. It did the same on the return trip in Hillsville VA.
I also could not find restaurants, shopping malls, or service stations using the POI while navigating, always the "no matches found" instantly appears.
I have read and reread the DIS manual, and tried every way I can think of to us the POI, but never find any results. If I enter an address and go to the POI menu and search by name I can get limited results.
Has anyone used this feature with success? Any suggestions as to what I could be missing, or doing wrong? The dealer was no help, nor was Hyundai Canada.
