Navigation System question

Just took delivery of my 09 4.6 tech with the most up to date firmware. 3.0
My question is hw do I turn th"guidance" off in the middle of a trip ?
I found one menu but the command "done" was grayed out.
Ther must be a way to turn the nav sysytem off mid-route ?

Easiest way is to press button on steering wheel for voice command and say "suspend route guidance"

There is but it takes longer. see page 209 of the DIS manual.

Not sure on the 09 Tech, but on my '12 Tech, you could push the joystick twice and it would suspend the nav.

Same on my 11.

Same on '12. Just press the DIS knob in twice.
