Navigation update.... what to expect?

Mine works properly but I have a 2018 and may be slightly different. If a problem with your version they hopefully will correct.

Hi I just received my SD Card I followed all the steps by step, but when I select to update it doesnt recognize that SD it already inserted. What I can do now? I tried with the sd converted to USB and still the same issue, nothing.

I didn;t have to use tthe usb stick for my update , in my 2015 it seems to be working ok. Am I missing something for the update . By not using the usb stick.

I downloaded the April update direct from MyHyundia to an SD card (no problem) for my 2015 Ultimate. I then took the SD card to the car, inserted it and pressed the 'update' button and around 30-40 minutes later (all with the engine still running as instructed) it finished. However, the quality of the map is now REDUCED. It now rarely shows/identifies all the interstate highways around me (no matter how far I zoom out). Some interstates are not identified at all. Has anybody else run into this? At this rate I'm ready to reinstall my previous version of the map.

I fixed my volume issue by installing the Nav Update directly onto my SD card. Luckily my laptop has a SD slot so I could directly install from the Nav Update software right to the SD card.

I believe if you install with a USB thumb drive you may get the volume issue...I did anyways.

I have a 2015 genesis 5.0 with the 9.2" screen. My update did the same as well. Copied files to sd card, installed into sd card slot in the car and it just booted up with the new maps in about a minute. Tried to go to the settings and do a manual update and it said to install a USB stick.

Also after the update, my volume button is messed up. When in nav screen and playing music, the volume button would not increase or decrease the volume of the music, but instead would change the navigation volume.

Not sure what to do?? Maybe try copying files to usb and retry the update?

An update. I copied the files to a USB stick and went to the settings menu and used the update button.it updated the nav and everything is working great including the volume control. Apparently the 2015 needs to use a USB stick to update the software.

What files did you load to the USB?

2017 Genesis G80 V8. Just did Nav update. Took a while to find the place to insert the 32GB card. Place a small screw driver or some tool into the small slot under the Nav update button beneath the clock and pry open, pull and raise. Does not come out but allows enough room to remove and insert updated 32GB card. Found 18GB in the slot. Discarded it. I have previously downloaded update to Windows PC and then copied to Card. When I inserted card into PC, the download to the card was automatic to my surprise. It just started on its own. Took close to 2 hours. Also took close to 2 hours to update the Mav system in the G80. All works fine with new streets on the maps. Also radio has a new look and some changes to controls.
