  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've got a 2015 Genesis 3. and had some transmission issues. The transmission started shifting very hard and down shifting hard when it shouldn't. The car has 56,xxx miles and is still under drive train warranty. I took the car to the area Hyundai/Genesis dealer. They got several codes, but didn't fix anything, and asked me to come back when they had a "loaner" available because they may have to keep it for several days. After two weeks I called and they said they hadn't been able to get to it yet. After a month, they said they hadn't figured out exactly what was wrong with the transmission, at the end of six weeks I went to the dealer and asked what was going on. They told me they can not figure out the problem with the transmission and had contacted Hyundai/Genesis tech for help, but had not heard back.

Any ideas on how I should handle this. Should I try to contact Hyundai/Genesis customer service direct and ask for help. If so, does anyone have a phone number.

Any thoughts or ideas will be appreciated.

Go to another Hyundai dealer. The one you have is useless and should be fired. You have transmission codes and a provable hard shift symptom, not being able to diagnose it is inexcusable.

Hyundai customer service is not able to force dealers to un-stupid.

Is Hyundai suffering from a shortage on transmissions?

I agree with taking it to another dealer if you have access to one. If that's not an option and you have a free loaner then put pressure on the dealer to pursue a replacement tranny.

Okay, I want to update you on this because it's hard to believe. I had these transmission--hard shifting, bad down shifting, etc. So I took it to the dealer, thinking I had a transmission problem. They couldn't figure it out, but finally reached out to Hyundai tech service and after a few days --they came back with----the problem is the fuel pump modulator. Had trouble getting one, back ordered, but once it came in it took them less than an hour to put the new one on. Wala! It actually fixed the problem. The local tech couldn't believe it either.

I believe it. I don't understand it, but I believe it. Seems like technology has some strange connections
