  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is a unit needed for the VSM and Smart Cruise Control.

Looking for used, or if your are parting out a Hyundai. Looking for low cost. They are on eBay but high dollar. This is the distance sensor on the front radiator support behind the bumper cover. Looking at it, you would see "Continental ARS340 -xxxxxxxxxx". It is on the Equus and some Genesis models.

Never mind. I found one online for too much money but it was the lowest I could find.

Well, that was a broker and ended up he did not have the unit, but could get me one that cost even more! So, Still on the lookout.

Yeah, that's how I got the broker, I put in a request and he called me and offered a good price. I paid and then was told the part wasn't good. So, back on the search, mainly for lower price. I can get them for $600 up...I was hoping someone here may be parting out a vehicle.

Update: found a fair-priced unit, easy install, I now have VSM and Smart Cruise Control. This car is plug and play.

Can it be a DIY install or by the shop???? I'm having the same problem with my 2011 Equus

I did not find it difficult. You take the front off, which sounds daunting, but it is actually not that hard. A shop could easily do this job as it is all mechanical. I did it in my driveway.

To take off the front bumper covering, you remove the trim pieces around the engine bay (and you will break some of the plastic fasteners). There are two 10mm bolts holding the top of the cover that you take out. Then remove the fasteners from the front left and right splash shields under the car. Finally, at the wheel well, there is a 9mm screw and another plastic fastener to remove.

Taking off the cover, first time you do it, it is kind of scary. But you just reach under the wheel well and grab the "fender" portion where you just took out the 9mm screws and pull it outward and upward. You will hear "unsnapping" sounds and the cover will pull off that side. Make sure you have a cushioning material in front of the car because you will lay the front of the covering on the ground there. Then do the same on the other side and the cover is loose (grill and all as one part). The front kind of snaps to a few pieces under the headlamps.

Before taking the cover completely off, you will need to remove the fog light connector plugs and the front sensor connector plug. Then you can move the cover away.

The Hyundai Cruise Control Module is now easy to reach on the lower left radiator support held by three 10mm bolts. That removes the bracket. The module is connected to the bracket by four bolts. Remove the old module, install and connect the replacement.

In my case, I verified with Hyundai service that the module was the problem. As you see from the other post, it could be something else.

The car recognized the working module upon start up and I no longer had a trouble light. Test drive, she works!

I ended up getting a used unit for under $300. Most salvage yards seem to have a "list price" now and will stick to around $700+ and of course there are a few that will want way over that. For a new unit Hyundai wants like $4 grand, you can get discounted online for a thousand or so less.

I am looking for one too. this is the 3rd one in my 2012 Equus Signature. The part number 96400-#M200 was the original. But I understand there are a couple of other ones that work, 96400-3M100 is one of them. I am searching. I paid $500 for the last one and it lasted 2 years.

I'm looking for the 96400-3M100 and all I'm being referred to is the 3M200. What's the difference????

Hi, could you advise me on how to get one (SHEAP). I am looking for GENESIS 96400-3M200. Thank you in advance.

Keep a look out. This may be one for $83 No part number, but I think it is the module and the donor car was rear ended, so it looks good for getting an undamaged unit. Good Luck.
