  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Called the dealer at 7:30 Pst this morning, told me to bring it in at 11:00, did so. They ran the diagnostics, found a minor evaprotive(SP) leak code, checked all possible places for leaks, found none. Appears there is a TSB for this, they reprogrammed the ECU in accordance with the TSB, check engine light is gone and the car runs great. A free wash and vaccum and I was down the road. Happy camper. A great service department. A couple of observations. I'm 61 and have owned a lot of cars (mostly performance) this is my first "luxury car", have you folks noticed just how good the brakes are on this car! Not to mention the stereo system with satellite, one year free with nav, we don't even need to talk about the engine. After I get a few K on the motor I'm looking forward to romping on it. I've only got 670 on it now so I'm taking it easy. One more little tidbit, I paid 37.5K plus T&L out the door, nothing else, not even doc fees. Plus they gave me two free details and two oil changes. I'm in love with my Genny. The other women in my life need to start paying attention. She is a lady...right?

No special break-in period is needed. By
following a few simple precautions for the
first 600 miles (1,000 km) you may add to
the performance, economy and life of
your vehicle.
• Do not race the engine.
• While driving, keep your engine speed
(rpm, or revolutions per minute)
between 2,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm.
• Do not maintain a single speed for long
periods of time, either fast or slow.
Varying engine speed is needed to
properly break-in the engine.
• Avoid hard stops, except in emergencies,
to allow the brakes to seat properly.
• Don't let the engine idle longer than 3
minutes at one time.
• Don't tow a trailer during the first 1,200
miles (2,000 km) of operation.

its good they fixed it with those other services... i hope the hyundai here in norcal would be the same with service... i have about 3800 miles on mine, 2009 4.6 non tech.. figured i dont need the navi.. i personally like the portable ones due to the ability of just downloading and updating the maps plus realtime traffic.. with the nav built in, before they were asking my other car 175$ for the dvd map.. haha.. plus with the base v8, its pretty loaded already i would say.. just drove mine from santa rosa CA to San diego CA, 8 hours drive and i would say, this is better than my brother's benz to drive!! gee, you wouldnt even feel your already going 100mph and its still very quiet inside the cabin.. i agree with the breaks... its very very good... the car feels very stable.. driving it was very comfortable too... checked on the computer on the dash, i was avg 26.9mpg.. not bad for a v8 going 90+ mph constantly.. im very pleased with my genny too, no complaints..

This car was built for GT jaunts like the one you describe. This is the area in which the car shines. It gets tremendous gas mileage for a car it's size and power. 90 down the highway the car is effortless to drive. The brakes could stop time. 4 piston calipers are usually on cars that cost twice as much. The car isn't as brilliant in city driving as there have been some complaints about the throttle response, and the choppy or harsh ride on uneven pavement. Overall, considering the content and the price for a brand new one, it's a compelling vehicle.
