  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello All,

I am in the negotiating phase for a new leftover 2013 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 sedan with the Premium package that has 335 miles. This car was never titled and was bought at auction by another Hyundai dealer. It will be sold as a CPO with what remains of the factory warranty.
I have read that several owners complain of what appears a stalling or braking issue that plagues some owners. Should I steer clear of this vehicle?
What do you guys feel the selling price should be for this 2013 leftover?

My 1st Genesis was a '13 sedan w/tech package. I had no issues with the car at all. In fact if I hadn't been offerwd to trade it in and buy an R-Spec I would still own it.

Do you guys feel that 24,600 is a decent price for this vehicle?

There are no deal-beaker issues like you mention. However, I would definitely have the car inspected for possible repaired damage. I gather you've seen a CarFax report? You'll have to do your due diligence as far as price. Sounds good to me, though. I love my '12 Premium.

How can it be a CPO if it was never titled?

The car is nearly three models years old. Hyundai likely has a policy that untitled cars over a certain age/mileage are not eligible for the new car warranty. The CPO warranty is not that critically different.

PMCErnie, that's exactly what the dealer said. It is Hyundai's policy that untitled cars over a certain age/mileage are not eligible for the new car warranty and thus are sold as CPO vehicles with what remain of the factory warranty.

Yes, my Santa Fe was an untitled corporate car with 6,000 miles on the clock. It was used for 4 months by a regional Hyundai service mgr. I confirmed that. I got the car with a CPO warranty. Also bought a comprehensive extended warranty, mostly to cover the audio & Nav systems beyond the factory 3 year warranty. You should check that question out too. How long are your audio & Nav covered?

I believe that the Nav & audio warranty is the remainder of the 3 year warranty.
What is this comprehensive warranty you speak of?
