If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. We've already seen some pretty decent spy shots of Hyundai's facelifted Genesis Coupe, expected to arrive shortly carrying a 2013-model-year designation. But this low-res image from TheCarBlogger.net appears to be our first official look at the car, sitting low and mean on a nondescript racetrack.

The outgoing Genesis Coupe's front end was never exactly a model of simplicity, but this new one has a lot more going on, with an aggressive hexagonal grille and fascia opening that cribs from its new kid brother, the 2012 Veloster. There are headlamps and LED detailing on what looks like a higher-spec model, and a rather bizarre vented hood with an almost whaletail-like pattern.

We can't see too much of the bodyside, but it appears Hyundai has given the car new split five-spoke wheels. The model's plunging rear quarter window appears unchanged.

No official word yet on what's under the hood, but we're expecting both four- and six-cylinder power, as before, but we have reason to believe that a supercharged V6 is in the cards. Thanks to SEMA and Rhys Millen Racing, we now know that Hyundai's stonking 5.0-liter Tau V8 fits in the engine bay, but we'd be surprised if an eight-cylinder coupe shows up when the model is revealed at this January's Detroit Motor Show.New 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe image leaks out originally appeared on Autoblog on Fri, 04 Nov 2011 14:16:00 EST. Man... I dig the new looks, but that front end fascia is HUGE. I am not a big fan of carmakers' decisions to add that plastic middle bumper piece, which is usually in black...

Why couldn't you just put two grills on the car -- an upper and a lower, instead of this massive one?

I guess I still like it better than the current model's front end - and it will probably look really nice in black or dark gray; the front plastic piece will at least blend in better with the body color.

Nice find, Sal.

Thank you! I actually really like it as is. To each his own! What an improvement over the current front fascia... Seriously.

The entire front end is a drastic change from the current gen. Looks sharp as compared to fluidic of the current gen

They will either sale more or less, less being bad idea on the exterior. It looks like they went back to the aluminum brushed interior pieces that guys in 2010 complained about. Do not know, like the hood change. More rigid in a crash.

Not sure if you have seen this video yet... great pics of the new coupe.

Have to tell you, the center stack looks like a mess to me. The whole car went from clean to boy-racer in one swipe. Honestly, the biggest complaints were the front grille, telescoping wheel, and dash materials. They could have done a headlight/grille refinement, telescoping wheel, and leather dash and BAM. I think Hyundai needs to really think about what a "Genesis" is because after seeing these images, it means nothing more than "sub $50k RWD car with stitched dash top".

They should rename this creature Tiburon.

mechanical changes are welcome though!

Honestly, I am not a huge fan of either the current car's fascia or the new one's... so if I were to get a GC, I'd probably go with an aftermarket front bumper and grill combo set anyway.

My favorite so far is the Vega (I'm sure they'll make it for the next-gen GC too):

Maserati.webp They are starting to look more Italian.

I think the 2013 will be a hit. Its alot more than expected for a 2 year car. Its a big improvement over the current model. Is it perfect NO, but its better.

New hp upgrade to both engines will generate more sales.

Hopefully if hyundai does any factory power upgrades to the 6 it will be a twin turbo instead of a supercharger

Hate to say it but turbo are a pain in the ass. Exhaust flow, heat, just to name a few bad problems . Supercharger is a bolt on that does not compromise exhaust flow. Header upgrades is a plus to get the heat out of the engine compartment. Dial in true performance without over boosting that leads to engine failure. I will never buy a used turbo car. The person that owned it always abuses it.

Does anyone know if it will be longer? The currect one is just too small for me. I have not been able to find any deminsions to compare it to the 2011.

Here you go, pilot: http://www.hyundainews.com/us/en-us/2013/Genesis-Coupe/Specifications.aspx

To answer your question.... no. It is the exact same car, dimension-wise.

;)

FYI, folks... you all know me by now... so I went and improved (in my opinion, folks) the ONLY thing that has been bugging me about the restyle.

Cost? Probably a couple hundred bucks to have your local sprayer do the bumper piece. Problem solved. Hyundai.... you know what to do!

:p

I really do hate the nose/grill on the new design... Your solution helps it tremendously, but I still don't like it. IMO, don't style your higher end car (Genesis) after your much lower end car (Veloster). I know there is a world of difference between the Genesis Coupe and Genesis Sedan, but they share a nameplate and should be a level apart.

Unfortunately, this may be the look for the entire line-up to come... so I don't think it's a higher-class vs. lower-class issue.

Which worries me a LOT about what's coming with the updated Genesis sedan... then again, the Sonata (non-hybrid) and Azera seem to have a different look than the rest of the line-up.

Who knows. Regardless.... for me... that would be an easy fix on this car. Just my $0.02USD
