Well the wife and i traded in her 07 Kia MiniVan for a 5.0 ultimate on 22 Dec. and its been in the shop since 24 Dec. We bought one of the last two 5.0 ultimate's in the Oregon/Washington area and had to drive 2 hours to get it. Worth it hopefully.
Kind of disappointed in Hyundai Quality control at the moment, but is the first year of a new model. During the dealer checkout, they couldn't get the XM radio to change stations, the screen would change but the channel would not. it would also keep displaying "low signal" and "busy" regardless of car location. The AM/FM radio worked perfectly fine. We HAVE to have the Xm working since we live in the sticks...lol Plus its a 23 hour drive back to AZ (military).
All their technicians came out and troubleshot it... no luck. so they let us take it for a day while they figured out a repair plan. They called the next day asking us to bring it back on 24 Dec before 0900 so they could call Hyundai tech support and trouble shoot. wouldnt you know it, Tech support was closed on Christmas eve. So a 2 hour drive back up there. While driving up there are got spurious sensor alarms, (blind spot detection, BSD unavailable (for 20mins or so) and AEB) the BSD would alert sometimes when there wasn't even a car near us! Was raining but not that hard. not sure if thats the cause or not. Arrived at dealer, gave them a list of gripes and the picture of the BSD unavailable screen. they gave us a 2015 Sonata sport as a loner... and we haven't seen our Genesis since that horrible day...
So what we have heard so far... couldn't find an issue with the AEB or BSD (of course) and they had to order a new radio unit from Hyundai because apparently they are locked to the car once they are installed so you cant just swap on out from one of the other million Genesis' they had on the lot.
So here we are trapped waiting for our car and cant drive back home to AZ. Its a awesome car for the one day we have had it!
Anyone else have a radio or sensor issues with there new cars? i have found some XM issues but none WRT not being able to change the XM station or not XM data working.
