  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Buyer Rebate - Deterring Me From Purchasing a Genesis

i guess you're not reading my post.
again, any car will qualify you.
ask to speak to the manager or finance guy at the dealership.
my dealer, as well as everyone on this forum, got any car to qualify.
i asked my dealer which of my cars, a honda accord or audi Q5 SUV, would qualify, and he said either one.

I did see that and went back to the dealership and they're still saying my car is not on the list. I was hoping to have proof to show them I qualify.

What do they gain by not giving me this rebate? The only thing that would make sense to me is if they're going to go back and get the rebate for themselves vs. passing along the savings to me.

Tell them to give it to you or you're taking your business to another dealer. If you are worried about service, any Hyundai dealer will service your car, even if you didn't buy it there. I don't service mine where I bought it.

Gambler, since the OP is in the Baltimore area can you refer him to someone?

Is there a specific reason you keep going back to this dealer? Seems like more trouble than it's worth. Everything this dealer has done sounds shady, from ridiculous dealer markups to not giving you the rebate. There are plenty of reasonable dealers that would jump at the chance to sell you a car. In fact, when i bought my R-spec, I didn't even have to prove I owned the car. They already had the form filled out with the VIN number on it and everything. I never gave them my keys or registration. Bottom line, take the quote they gave you and your money somewhere else.

OP, I got my Genesis from Len Stoler Hyundai in Reisterstown,
I service my Genesis at Heritage Hyundai in Towson,
I shopped around at Jones Junction also (Belair-ish)

The sales manager at Len Stoler was a jerk, I almost left, but they finally came down to my price. The Jones Junction place was the friendliest by far, also the most expensive.

Baltimore?

www.Fitzmall.com.
They should take good care of you.... listing shows 44 Genesis (4 door) models on their lot.

Enough said. :D

Also try Ourisman in Laurel - I have bought 2 cars there (Azera, Genesis) and have been happy with all transactions and service.

Fitzmall- check their website-they're very easy to get along with. They made it clear that it was pretty easy to get the rebates. But their prices on the website DO include the rebates. On top of that- their prices are hard to beat. I really don't know why anyone would (other than a test drive) ever walk into the dealership until all that was left was to sign the paperwork!
I used Fitz price to get a "little more local" dealer to drop their price to meet Fitz's. I had never been to the dealership that I purchased from until I went to sign the papers and drive away. One other thing-They had the pinstripes installed on my car while I was driving there. Unfortunately- I didn't want them-even though they were gratis-so they "uninstalled" them. No problem.:D

I just bought my R Spec last firday night. I got the $1500 competitor rebate and the $500 military rebate, retired Navy.

I gave them a copy of my registration on my '08 Pontiac G8 for the competitor rebate. The G8 is closeer to the class of yoru Ford than a Lexus.

I'd find another dealer. Sounds like they are trying to rip you off.

I'd like to purchase it there because if they would give me the competitive rebate I've got it negotiated down to a really good price since the vehicle is a demo.

You're right though...they are scummy and I probably shouldn't bother to give them my business regardless.

I'll go check out Fitzgerald like some of the others suggested...thanks.

This is the dealership that has been jerking me around

We bought a Wrangler for my fiance at their Jeep dealership in Clarksville without any problems last year but because it was a used vehicle they didn't have a bunch of junk added onto the car that they wanted to charge an extra $3,000 for.

Maybe I just had bad luck there but the salesman and the GSM that I worked with there were both extremely poor.

Those are a bit further away (I'm in Howard County) but I will check them out online to see what they have. Thanks for helping out!

There has been a lot of great feedback in this thread. Just wanted to say thanks to everybody that offered their input.

I've not been to Fitz Automall but they seem to be a good place to check out. I appreciate your guidance!

I'm surprised to hear this - I have had nothing but good experience with Ourisman.

Fitzmall is pretty hard to beat on price (best way is probably just to get a price from the internet manager).

Another Hyundai dealership in the area is Antwerpen Hyundai in Catonsville; they're pretty big but I would go to them w/ an offer from Fitzmall in hand to see if they can meet it or beat it.
