so the ins company was judicious in paying me 23,900.00 for my totaled 2009 4.6 w/ tech. the car had 62k miles on her but was in great shape before the accident. that included tax and lic. not bad considering i would have never got that for a trade in or private sell.
now i'm ready to purchase a new car but stuck a little on which way i'm gonna go. last night i even thought up of another option which is to wait for the 15's to come down and drive my truck while i'm waiting. the only problem w/ that is my truck stays hooked up to my boat because it's on the street. no room in my driveway for it so i'll have to find storage .
but after seeing the 15's, i really want to eventually own one of those. really nice cars, just too expensive right now at 54k for the ultimate 5.0. so i was thinking of getting a 14 r spec in the meantime for 38k and then trade it in next year IF the 15's come down. still, i will more than likely take a big hit on the trade in. the other option is to go with a 2011 4.6 with 52k miles for 19,500 and drive that for a year, but again, i'll take a hit with the trade in, but not as bad as the new 14.
i was even looking at a 2012 equus with 18k miles for 37k, but i'm not too fond of the looks of that model.
lots of options, but i think money and savings wise, it's best to drive my truck for a while and wait for the 15's to come down.
