  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Genesis G70 Pictures

Yeah I'm not racing anyone. I love the reliability the Korean brand seems to have and also love the look of the G70 but at that price point, I start looking elsewhere. I love the soft cushy Lexus experience - call me an old fart:)
For sure lol i think i like the idea of having the power the G70 offers more than i actually use it, i mean really there is not alot of scenarios where it is usable unless you are passing constantly on a highway or racing red light to red light, sure does make me smile from time to time though.

That said the G70 interior is great and feels great

You said 50k to get the V6 which won't be true. A decked out V6 is another story.
No interest in a stripped down one. If the top of line Stinger is well over the $50K mark, won't the G70 be as well?

This is my assumption also. Top trim G70 in Canada costs more than top trim Stinger, it would make sense being the same here in the US.

However, the difference is that in Canada, the Stinger is actually a really good deal. And likewise paying a little bit more for the G70 is a no-brainer. In the US, the Stinger is already too expensive (in my opinion). You certainly get more for the G70 than the Stinger, so logic would dictate that it will cost more here as well.

My guess still stands at 54k for top trim, AWD G70.

What would be nice is if the G70 topped out right at 50k, and Kia was forced to lower the MSRP of the Stinger, I mean, they're already throwing in really heavy discounts as it is. But.......we all know this won't happen.

I'm hopeful we will have pricing and delivery dates available by early October.

The new ES 350 FSport. Redesigned for 2019. My wife has the RX350 and the attention to detail with Lexus is amazing as the slogan says.

Cool.

For me, I need more.....

If the price for top G70 in Canada is about $44,000 US and price in Korea is about $45,700 US, (not counting delivery) shouldn’t the US price be fairly close?

No...wrong logic.

I wish. If that were the case, the Stinger would cost less than it does now.

At $54K, they better discount it aggressively or it will sell just like the Stinger.

I completely agree with you all... But it's hard to ignore Canada's pricing relative to the Stinger and then apply the same model here in the US. I hope I'm wrong.

I sat in one at the N.Y. auto show several months ago. A bit smaller inside than I expected but love the look. Honestly at $50k for the V6, I'm probably going with a Lexus though.

I'm seeing a topped out ES350 F Sport for almost 52k MSRP.

That really is not the correct Lexus to compare to the G70 though. IS is more similar in terms of size and sportiness. The ES is basically a Toyota Avalon (big car!) and would be more in line with a large Buick or Acura. I haven't driven the latest ES, but the 2017 is a horribly boring car. Fine if you are 70 plus, but I think that should be the only reason you should be looking at it.

You haven't seen the 2019 Fsport my friend. This is not your father's Oldsmobile. Buick - ha😁 By the way IS is probably being discontinued.

I have seen it, and looking sporty and driving sporty is a big difference. Obviously I haven't driven it though, but based on the old model (and how they are marketed) the IS is way closer to the G70 than the ES is. F sport or not. I just highly doubt you will ever see a comparison test between the ES and the G70, but highly likely the other way around. And the ES is huge compared to the G70. I would say it is a closer to a G80 competitor than to the G70.

Perhaps closer to the G80 but that is an aging design by now. As I said, I plan to test both and take it from there.

It really is quite a shame (if it holds true) that the US spec 6spd MT Sport will be more stripped down from the AT Sport and CAD 6MT. If this is all indeed true as media has been reporting then I will have to consider a different brand altogether.
