  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Genesis G70 Pictures

^ we really need to wait until the US spec sheet is available to compare trims. i commented in another thread about what i've observed the differences to be just based on photos. US seems to win in some areas and lose in others with the 6MT trim. US gets ventilated seats, CAD doesn't. US gets more interior colour choices, CAD gets only black. i think US gets the classy 10-spoke, CAD gets 5-spoke dark rims (subjective, but different).

in some photos, the 2.0T has dual exhaust, but CAD gets single exhaust. not sure what market that is for.

2.0T has dual exhaust on ONE side only. 3.3T has one on each side. This is set in stone globally.

^ not according to this photo which is what i based my take on - dang that looks good and it is how every G70 should come regardless of engine:

Now that is really messed up. Is that the manual with sports exhaust? <arms in the air > I give up...uncle.

Well, I have a manual with sports exhaust and it doesn't look like that. Wish it did though. Symmetrical dual exhaust is really a given with this class of car. Heck, even most lesser ranked 2.0T cars have dual tips.

Note that this is a picture from the Korean spec. The Koreans have more customization options.

US spec sheet IS available, and has been for some time. See below...

Genesis Newsroom

This is the spec sheet for the Canadian G70. I bet the USA one will be pretty damn close...

You know what...since Genesis f'ing sucks and they are deemed to be useless...I am taking the above chart and expanding it for the USA based off of their sloppy spec sheet in their press release. USA Genesis needs to invest in Excel.

Just from a quick glance...USA has more trim levels...so what I posted is wrong.

Might take a while...but I like doing this shit.

Stay tuned.

Alrighty...I have created an Excel file. But...I don't want to post here since it may have embedded personal info. I wiped it...but still hesitant. So I created a PDF.

Let me know if I missed or screwed something up.

You can see the different colored headings...and I highlighted some differences here and there. I started losing my mind after a while...so is what it is...LOL.

^ nice work, but note that the US 6MT trim gets ventilated front seats standard, and neither market's 6MT trim get the rear seat HVAC ducts. the spec sheets are incorrect for CAD market. evidently there are errors on the US sheet as well.

US 6MT gets the 10-spoke rims, CAD gets the 5-spoke darker Sport rims. so this points to a difference in the Sport "appearance package" between markets. of course, this assumes that all US current press coverage is correct showing the 6MT with different sport appearance features than CAD.

the US market 6MT trim gets different seat quilting - not the diamond stitching nappa that CAD gets which matches the 3.3T Sport. US gets more interior colour choices so they may get the diamond pattern as well, but all US pictures have shown the 'vertical genuine leather' seating pattern. the G70 has numerous patterns so this gets a bit confusing.

Where are you getting your info? I disagree with everything you said...sorry.

I am looking at the press release and it clearly states that ventilated seats get introduced on the 2.0T Elite. There is no differentiation between 6MT or not. I did exclude the extra sporty stuff on the 6MT like bigger brakes, lower suspension and sport exhaust.

There is no mention of rear HVAC ducts...being added to trims or missing all together. Just because the CAD spec sheet is wrong...does not mean it is missing/wrong in the USA press release.

The Sport trims (both engines) get the 5 spoke dark rims...both CAN and USA. This includes the 6MT in Sport form.

The Sport (both engines) gets the fully quilted Napa. This includes the 6MT in Sport form. Lower than Sport get that half quilt Napa...then lower get regular leather...then lowest get non-leather.

The USA gets less colors...as the green and red are specialty releases upon launch. CAN gets those colors as part of the regular lineup.

The USA will get same stitching colors (red and gray)...but with more combinations in regards to exterior colors. Example...Siberian Ice can be had with gray stitching.

Now...I am basing everything on the CAN spec sheet...and the USA press release which is a tough read...but I sorted it out. If you have other information on the USA (I know nothing else was released)...do share.

^ no big deal, you've been wrong before. just scroll up a few posts...(y)

i absolutely agree that the various spec sheets can be confusing and are not as clear as many other manufacturers. i have spent more time than i should have trying to make sense of it all.

i am basing my info on all the initial coverage from the US press at the launch events and follow up youtube videos - as well as confirmation from GXM's on this forum. all these various photos/videos show the US 6MT trim getting ventilated seats. CAD 6MT trim does not get them.

CAD 6MT trim was supposed to get rear seat HVAC ducts, but this was scrapped at the last minute due to packaging issues in the centre console. i have to draw a parallel between CAD and US spec and assume that the US market will also not see rear seat HVAC for the 6MT trim.

all coverage of the US 6MT trim that i've seen show the 10-spoke non-sport rims. CAD 6MT gets the 5 spoke dark rims. maybe the US will also get the 5-spoke rims on the 6MT, but all picture/video have shown otherwise. or perhaps US will actually get options! that would be nice.

all coverage i've seen of the US 6MT trim show a different stitching pattern on the seats, and a different colour. i'm not saying that US will not also get the Sport stitching, just that there are perhaps other options beyond the diamond nappa stitching.

As canucklehead has said, the US press event in Maine, which was the first showing of the US manuals, had manual G70s with specs that did not match the US press release. The cars included leatherette seats (ventilated), no sunroof, and no Sport exterior details like the black chrome. As of right now, objectively we cannot verify if the press release is correct or if the manuals at the event were actually production units and not just press cars. So for now, the manual details are definitely up in the air, and the validity of the press release is in question. Of course the US specs are likely very similar to the Canadian ones and what the press release says, but I wouldn't trust it 100 percent.

Yeah...I hear you on all that. I guess we just wait...right?

I did want to point out that the USA has 1 extra 2.0T model (Dynamic) and 3 extra 3.3T models (Advanced, Elite, Prestige).
The USA is missing 1 of 3.3T models (Dynamic...but that is ending up being one of the "special" ones along with Design).

What a clusterfuck.

Time to start drinking I think...almost 5pm in the Maritimes.

Didn't know where to post this...why not here.

So...little challenge for you peeps.

Looks like USA Brochures are hosted on Zmags.com.

Dissecting the URL...

2018 Genesis G80 = 64226ae7
2018 Genesis G90 = 257b6863

No idea if that is decryptable...what the hash is, etc...but what would 2019 Genesis G70 be?
If we could figure that out...we could potentially see the brochure online :)

Have at it !!
