Back in 2012 I rented a Genesis sedan for a few days and fell in love. I have been driving an 03' Yukon as my commuter car which is fine except when I have to fill it up lol. Today I was able to secure a 2013 certified pre-owned Genesis 3.8 sedan at 2.99% financing. My credit is less than perfect but I came in the stealership with 2 other financing offers pre approved for just a couple percentage points higher.

I was under the impression that an advertised "certified pre-owned" meant, certified pre-owned. But apparently that comes as an added cost to the price according to the dealer. Regardless, I negotiated it in as a condition of the deal.

The only thing I don't like about it is that has 27,000 miles and it was a former enterprise rental car. However, it's in great shape save for a few small imperfections. Combined with a powertrain warranty that's good till 2023 or 73,000 more miles it helped put my mind at ease about how it may have been treated as a rental.

CPO for Hyundai means that the 10 year - 100K mile drivetrain warranty is made available to you, even though it is normally for original owners only. This is why the dealer has to pay Hyundai to sell a CPO.

CPO is also supposed to mean that the dealer does a thorough inspection of the car, but that usually does not happen based on many comments of people on this forum who have bought a CPO car and found some obvious problems right after purchase of the car.

Yeah, I doubt my dealer actually took the time to inspect everything. I do have to take it back because I didn't get floor mats, they agreed to give me the mats from the other used Genesis on the lot.

Also, the painted plastic trim piece around the drivers side windshield is sticking up a little and I can't push it in far enough to get it to click in place. I suspect at some point someone replaced the windshield and didn't reinstall it properly.
