New Genesis vs Used S class Merc

Wasn't the topic of this thread a new Genesis vs used S-class? I didn't invent it - I just commented on it.

When you're talking a $30k S600 they are very much comparable. It's up to the individual whether they want a used car or the potential repair bills, which was probably the discussion the OP expected.

My brother is looking at a new daily driver and Hyundai is very much under consideration so Mercedes owners can be very happy with a Genesis.

The S class, specifically the S600, is a tough sedan to beat. You can find showroom clean ones with under 30k miles for under $30k. Don't confuse them with the other Mercedes offerings; these are the best they can build. The twin turbo v12 allows the car to defy the laws of physics when accelerating and there's room for 5. Sure, the Genesis gets twice the mileage but I don't think there's a better highway car out there. You need to shop at least an Equus if you want a car in S-class territory.

So what do you say about the 5.0 version of the Genesis since it is even faster.
