  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bid farewell to my beloved G and traded it in for a new Sonata. After two Hyundai's the choice was clear. I'm convinced these cars are really well built. It was an easy transition as the family resemblance to the new Genesis is uncanny. It's like getting into a smaller version of the Genesis. Most of all the safety features I enjoy and have gotten used to are in the new Sonata. That's if you choose one of the upper option classes. Of course it doesn't have the sheer brute force of the G but like the Genesis it gives up brute performance for superb refinement and interior space. The only really nice features of the Genesis that are missing is the HUD of course, autonomous braking, (although is has a front collision warning), and lane keep assist (it has Lane departure Warning) but that's why it's a Sonata and not a Genesis. It also has a top score for safety from the IIHS just like it's big brother. Hyundai has really gotten their act together on these 2015 models. Their build quality and fit and finish is now acknowledged as on par with any of the competition.:)

You traded in your 2015 Genesis already??? Why?

I like the latest gen Sonata. What was the reason you traded in the Genesis?

Didn’t trade in my Genesis would never do that. The Genesis is my wife’s car. My car was the Infiniti G which I traded in. The family resemblance and familiarity to the Genesis was a big selling point. It shares the Genesis commitment to real refinement. While it’s not the performance car my G was it is really so much more. Like the Genesis what they backed off on in performance was made up with a car that’s really a pleasure to drive. It’s quite and rides beautifully like our Genesis. I feel right at home with it. It’s like a smaller version of the Genesis. It’s the sport turbo so the overall performance is good. The interior is strikingly like the Genesis so orientation was quick. The Genesis set the bar and it looks like the following models try to get as close as possible.

Nice! Now if they would just come out with an AWD version..... That was a "must have" for me, living in a snow belt state. I think they will sell a lot of these though!

I think between the Genesis and Sonata, Hyundai is going to attract many new buyers.
Congrats on the purchase.

Definitly if they had one I would have got it. That's one area where the Genesis is really hard to beat.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Whoa, the wifey gets the Genesis and you get the Sonata? Swap it up, Ernie!

GF got the fully loaded Sonata Eco, it's a great ride.

That sucks.... post those pictures here. We can't see them there without logging in.
