If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Pics to come but i am somewhat relieved that the airbag arrived and is the CORRECT color. i have read numerous posts of nightmarish situations of the "wrong" airbag being delivered.

On a side note my wife got to the airbag package in the nick-of-time. it was pouring rain and wife opens the front door for really NO reason other than to see what destruction the driving rain is doing to the newly planted flowers and "viola" there's a brown cardboard DRENCHED box sitting on the stoop!! she took it in and realized it was the airbag, took it into the garage and opened it up. the box was melting in her hands but AMAZINGLY the airbag was inside a secondary package of plastic with bubble wrap inside of that and then brown paper. She called me at work and told me, before she got to the end my blood started to boil lol.. friggin mailman??? comon man??? you can't RING A FRIGGIN DOORBELL??

Are you self installing?

You'll love it Tony:) It only takes about 20 minutes to install, so you won't have to wait long once you've started the install to enjoy it.

I don't blame you! Enjoy.

can you tell me what company you ordered it from?

okay. i'm still at my friend's shop (waiting for lunch) airbag install is complete. but as usual there's a funny story..

I get here this morning and my friend (owner) is like that's a piece of cake take this this and this and go do it. car is in front of the shop (which has 2 G8's and a pickup with a 427 in it getting all kinds of custom stuff) the other bay is filled with an awd mustang dyno. so i'm like yeah, instead of waiting for these guys to break free, i'll do it. didn't look complicated (airbags were always taboo in my head lol) pop the trunk i start pulling the neg cable off, then the positive. well my friend is like what are you doing? i said disconnecting the battery. he says you don't have to disconnect the positive you moron.. so i leave it and replace the airbag. the black clip wouldn't pull out even after the lock was popped up, it was on there good. i ended up having to use a pair of pliers and wiggle it free. NP i put the new one on and reconnect the battery. i go to leave and the airbag light is on. wtf? are you serious? so after finding out that even his $8k scanner cannot read 2011 cars yet (snap on update didn't even have it listed yet). i had to go to the dealer (2 miles away). so i pop into the service manager at lester glenn (Zina). tell her that i had an issue. she first tells me that it may need a module because i replaced the airbag but sent a tech out to try and reset the code. he tells us that it wont reset, says low resistance. just my luck i received a defective airbag?? they take it in the shop and after 20 minutes they pull it out. she tells me the black connector was not fully seated, they reset the code and i was on my way. Free of charge!! $20 to the mechanic and a thank you to her. Once again this dealer just keeps amazing me.

morale of the story: MAKE SURE WHEN YOU ARE RECONNECTING THE CONNECTORS YOU DOUBLE CHECK THE CONNECTORS ARE FULLY SEATED AND THE LOCK CLIPS ARE PUSHED ALL THE WAY IN. i thought i did, but the "snap" i heard from the two connectors did sound a little different, i should've taken another look.

on a side note the tech at hyundai said you do not have to disconnect pos and neg (but that literally takes another 30 seconds so why not, if it makes you feel better).

i'll snap a few pics when i get home should be up by tomorrow.

Nice! Now you have me thinking...

What company did you order from? I just purchased my genesis two weeks ago; I've replaced all other emblems but think this will complete the look

I really want this... but the boss would kill me. I suppose I could live in my car for a while....

Congrats. Looks great!

Too bad I leased...can't rationalize spending the $ so I got the sticker!

Is the Korean market airbag up to USA govt specs?

Does that sticker fly off and hit you in the face if the airbag deploys?

Scott,
Did yours come in looking like the one the OP posted, or like the one in the pic on the SFR website?

If it's like the OP's im gonna order from SFR. If it looks like the one on the SFR website, im going to pursue a different route.

When I emailed them, they werent aware of the different kinds of airbags.

It's the same airbag that is in the pic as Tony ordered. The pic on the SFR site has the clear protective liner still on it, so it looks hazy. To clarify, Tony has the same airbag as mine.

I was thinking that it was the film, but when i look close at the angles on the bottom of the wings, the pointyness (is that a word) of the wingtips, and the distance from the wingtips to the horn emblem, I believe the one pictured is for an earlier model airbag.

I think I am going to order it since you got the exact same one.
I figure if I get one I dont like, I can easily sell it on ebay. I havent seen any winged airbags on there, only the flying H ones.
