New Map v13.0 update available

Just to let you know that the new map v13.0 from MapNSoft is available. Was anounced since early April but not available until this weekend, I ordered mine and received the SD card today, installed on my G70 in around 25 minutes. Lets see what improvements has over v12.5.

So I don't have experience with updating maps on cars. Is this a situation where you keep the SD card plugged in or can you remove/sell your card after the install?

You get a new card for replacing the old one. I'm not sure if your old card will work on another car, I think after install the card is "fixed" to your Nav specific ID but I could be wrong.

Even easier. Just download it and install onto your existing card.

My main reason for asking is I'm already dreaming of cheap/free map updates. Google maps has spoiled me with it's updates, but not having to fire up Android Auto and wire my phone to the car would be nice

If you have iOS, can you check to see if you can reply to a text when connected via BT or is it receive alert only?

Yes but that ended up as an ordeal. I tried to do it and got some issues. First download time is ridiculously slow (2 Mb/sec) second, installing in your SD card is ridiculously slow too (around 40 minutes) and third, when tried to install in the car I got an error saying that the files were corrupted or missing. Repeated the same f'..ing process THREE times in two different computers and got the same error so I contacted MapNSoft and they sent me the SD card via FedEx Priority Overnight.

Sorry but I have Android. I can receive texts thet can be read but I don't think I can reply them. That feature works since v12.5 though.

With v13.0? I did it with v12.5 w/o issues but v13.0 gave me error.

I believe Android has 2 way support for texts. Only iOS is limited to receive only.

You can reply with a stock answer like "thank you" but not a typed or dictated reply.

Yup. Like @EdP said, I'm pretty sure you only get those stupid basic responses. It may give you more options when in park, though, or maybe you can only reply *while* in park....I can't remember.

We don't even get that for iOS.

v13 gave me an error also. They have overnighted me an SD card.

In fact, V13 update is now down on the website as unavailable....probably from people reporting that it's not working.

Thanks for sharing. I was getting crazy about the install error. I ended up requesting the SD card and they sent me one just like you.

I think MapNSoft got the download fixed. I was able to download the update and install it this afternoon. Has anybody figured what changed with the update yet?

Yes, it is on their website. Most of the change is POIs and additional roads. Nothing exciting. Still don't have my street.
