  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi there, My name is Chad and im from Pensacola, Florida. First off im in the market for a 4 door car. I am probably one of the younger guys here because im still in my 20s, however I know what a great car is when I see one, 4 door or not! I am a avid Honda lover and have enjoyed a few Accords along with my current Prelude. Times are changing, I live alone here in Florida and my gf is doing her residency at a hospital in Albany, GA. In saying that, I am always on the road traveling from one state to another. Basically, I need a 4 door car. I have read some of the other new members introductions here and have seen they too were or are Accord owners and or Acura owners. I do like the new Accord but its just not fancy enough for me, although cheaper. The only new Acura I love is the TSX, but its not as roomy or curvy as I would like. This is what lead me to look at the Genesis in the first place. I had stopped at a dealer last year in Atlanta when they first got the Genesis cars in stock and had to get in it, of course im the "young guy" so no salesman even said anything to me, which was good, but I was shocked! Hyundai has come leaps and bounds since its 80s cars! My very first car was an 88 Excel and that thing fell apart every 2 weeks. This is the very first Hyundai I have even thought about since then. I did test drive a GC track model but I knew I didnt need another 2 door car and just wasnt happy. Basically in the end, im here to look at a few of the cars and really get an idea for this car which I love. I would also like to see a few of the cars with some tasteful wheels on them if anyone has pics or with tinting on them. I am not looking into ghetto'fying out the Genesis so dont get scared! haha Please feel free to offer up any advice on the whole matter,

Thanks,
Chad

My best advise is to get the TECH package on either the 3.8 or 4.6 model.

I got the black on black interior due to that it hides dirt so much better on both the carpet and the leather. Downside you'll have to vacum more.

My favorite leather would have been the saddle brown/black carpet but that combo is hard to come by.

Put the wings on the hood, trunk and wheel caps it completes the Genesis.

Good Luck

Welcome, Chad. There are several other twenty-somethings here, so you're not alone. I'm there mentally too ;)

If you're looking for pictures, there are a whole bunch here: http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/all_albums.php
You can get a good idea of all of the things people are doing with their Genesis.

I'm biased, but I think you could do much, much worse for a 4-door sedan than this car.

I do appreciate you alls replies. I did drive a VW CC yesterday and was highly impressed. You are right, there are many vehicles out there in that range that are great cars. I think this will be so hard for a decision to make. I dont think I will even look at BMW or Mercedes because I am not really a fan of either brand. I was just shocked at how good the VW CC really was. I think it will come down to a test drive off in the end! haha I will go look at the pics soon! Are there ever any meets that go on say in the Florida or Southern area?

Thanks for the help and advice!;)

I'm not too sure about the CC...I much prefer the Passat styling myself. Anyway, I too test drove it. It's definitely a more sporty car than the Genesis, but that's not my taste. And, at the end of the day, the CC is more expensive than the Genesis, so that helped in my decision.

Hi chad,
I too am in my 20s (27) and was interested in the genesis sedan. I picked one up in May, and am pretty happy with the 4.6 tech. In a larger sedan, it is surprisingly agile, and quick to boot. I agree with the previous poster who stated black on black is great at hiding dirt. Can't comment on the wheel mods, as mine is all stock. Enjoy your search!

All I am going to say is, I LOVE the Genesis Sedan, and you will too. It is such an enjoyable car to drive. Even after 2 months, I still get excited about driving the car, and I drive about 2 to 3 hours a day commuting.
