  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just purchased 2011 Tau 4.6 - my thoughts

Test drove many many cars over last two weeks. BMW 3 series, Mercedes 300C 4matic, Infiniti G37 sedan and couple, Nissan Maxima, Acura TL, Buick Regal GS, to name just a few. Also drove a low mileage Platinum 5 Spec. Then saw one more car. 2011 4.6 Sapphire Blue?/Royal Blue with cashmere interior. Liked the color combo a lot and preferred the ride over the 5.0 spec for some reason. Car mint condition and 20,069 miles. Thinking it was my bad back that chose it over the 5.0 spec as ride (could have been my imagination) on a bumpy road seemed a little more comfortable. Also hard a hard time justifying the extra $7000 for the 5.0 spec. Even so it was a hard decision. After driving all the cars I test drove I did conclude it has to be the BMW and Merc badge that impresses some car owners as I came away unimpressed with those cars. Maybe they just did not fit my needs like the 4.6 now in my driveway. Plus I like having something not ordinary.

Welcome!

Welcome.

I just purchased a 11' 4.6 as well.

What did you spend out of curiosity?

I will pull out papers look and message you. I paid a little more than most. Got from Carsense. Kind of an up and coming company. Got 5 day test drive. Also 6 month bumper to bumper, covers everything. And lifetime engine guarantee. Plus they only sell low mileage cars with no dents, dings, or even scratches. Nice people too purchased warranty that also covers small dents, lost keys, small interior cracks or tears as I tend to lose stuff and I hate even the smallest dents or scratches. So paid a premium but then once I buy a car I hang on to then at least 6 to 10 years as we put so few miles on any car.

136,000 on my 2011 4.6 with tech. still runs great, and looks great. Enjoy your new ride. Mine has been very very reliable.
