The confusion is because the 2013 Canadian Genesis did not get the new DIS when the US Genesis did. I was quite annoyed last year when the 2013 was released and I was returning my 2009 Genesis at the end of the lease. I had seen all the information about the changes that had been made to the 2013 tech package and was looking forward to the upgrades but when the car arrived in Canada, there were no changes between the 2012's and the 2013's. The cynic in me says that they looked at how many tech package models they sell in Canada each year then looked in their parts bin and discovered that they had about that many of the old ones left over so once again Canadians took it in the shorts (we pay a lot more for a lot less). I wound up getting a 2012 demo model instead of a new 2013 since there were no changes.
I saw a 2013 Genesis on display inside a local mall a few months back that had the new DIS. I guess now that the"old" parts bin is empty they have no choice but to start putting the new DIS in the Canadian cars.and when I asked my dealer about the change they knew nothing about it. Oh well, at least with the new 2015 coming soon, they probably won't be using up left over parts on our Canadian cars.
