New owner checking in...

Just thought I would post a quick intro as I start reading here.

I'm picking up my 3.8 AWD Tech sedan on Monday, Ibiza Blue with the black-piped Ivory interior. I'm in Canada so the option packages are a bit different up here, it's essentially the 'fully-loaded' model. Wanted the V8 but it seemed a bit too much cash for the gain in straight line speed.

Anyhow, I look forward to posting here!

I've also ordered a set of Braelin BR04 wheels for the summer tires and I'll put winters on the stock wheels. I'll post Pics once they show up but I'm expecting it to look great.

Any simple warranty approved mods to look into for a little more pep or a more aggressive engine note?

Regarding the engine note, it improves greatly around the 2000 mile mark. As the engine breaks in a learns your driving habits. Once you break it in (600 miles) drive it like you stole it

Check that the Dealer has installed the latest Mapping Software in your car. There was a recent update and it may or may not have been installed at the factory. If the dealer isn't sure then get them to agree to a free update if available. The map software on my 2015 (delivered in September 2014) was older than the updated software in my 2012

Will do, thanks for the tip. Also asking them about a badge swap on the rear to get the winged logo on there.

It's about $100 to have the dealer do the badge swap. I know it's a lot cheaper to do it myself but I'm lazy

If you have already signed the papers then most dealers will not let you add anything that costs them a penny. My dealer always throws in the rebadging so long at you know to ask for it. Have fun!

So, I went in to pick up my *new* Genesis this afternoon.

Guess what had over 900km on the odometer? Guess who walked out on the deal after taking a strip off of three different managers out on the sales floor? Guess who just had my worst fears confirmed: Hyundai is NOT READY to enter this market yet.

Sorry I guess I'm not a Genesis Owner after all.

I've heard of this kind of thing happening at a lot of dealerships. I don't remember specific ones but I don't think it's EXTREMELY unusual - but sad, none the less. That's a good bit of mileage on what's supposed to be a new car. What was their explanation??
