New Software Update

I would to see an option to remove the Genesis "widget" from the Android Auto/CarPlay screen so we can use the full screen! I've tried multiple times to talk to MapnSoft, Genesis Connected Services, Genesis Customer Services, etc, etc to put in a request/suggestion that they provide the option to remove this. I have never been able to get any of these groups to accept responsibility that it was "their department" so I haven't gotten anywhere.

I updated a couple days ago and all of a sudden the native navigation /maps is looking off -no color and other visuals missing. This is the 2nd update I've done, the one from a few months ago had no issues, so I'm familiar with the process. Has this happened with anyone else? Any suggestions?

I think they updated Waze, but nothing has been done from the Genesis side. I use Google Maps which has always used 3/4 of the screen, but there is still no way to use all of the screen - the way the built-in nav system does.

Also noticed that they haven't updated the navigation maps to show the new highway in my area, which was added before the LAST nav update, so now we're two behind and still no update.

Looks like the map display colour got reset - just go into the map display options and turn the colours back on. I think this is set to daytime neon...

I believe I successfully updated the Navigation software. but am not getting a persistent message "Preparing Map...This display will soon switch to the last Map mode used." However, the message hasn't gone away yet. Has anyone else seen that, and perhaps done something the make the message go away, or actually experience the display switching to the last Map mode used?

Haven't seen that, but I would use the Map+Setup button reset function (hold for 5 seconds) and that should fix it.

Yeah, just downloaded it...they also threw in some sort of list of "favourite gas stations" for us ancient ICE vehicle people but nothing else is mentioned. I hope they updated the maps as they just rerouted the highway coming into my town and I'm tired of the NAV system constantly beeping at me as I appear to be driving through a field. I will start updating on my way home.

I’ve only used navigation routing a few times around Edmonton but there are times I think the lady in there is drunk. Hopefully, an update will sober her up.

I updated today and have the same grayed out display. I did the map/setup many times, it did not correct it. Has anyone figured it out?

Yes, I changed the colors, no change.

Spoke to Genesis and they told me the website was incorrect and it will not be fixed until some time in June. They gave me a different phone, called and he told me the web site navigation is up and correct. On your map screen hit the compass, it will bring up four choices, mine was on neon 3d, I clicked on heading up 3d and map display now has colors back names of streets, etc..

I just downloaded the current (.....230420) GV70 software and installed it in my GV70EV without any incompatibility issues. EV Route Planning is now enabled. I appreciate the information regarding selecting "Heading Up 3D" in Navigation to re-enable street names, etc.

Finally got around to doing mine. No issues but only took a short drive. Damn it took a while...better part of an hour +. Maybe I need to junk this old 32GB usb stick. Write speeds probably molasses.

After weeks of hoping Genesis would fix the ability to accept the terms and conditions for over the air updates, I finally downloaded the update to a Scandisk 128GB memory stick on MacBook Pro M1. We have two 2023 GV70 Sport Prestige. The first car did the download to the car with the engine off (it's an option you can choose when you connect the stick and choose Setup > General > Software Update), and it went great and quickly. The second GV70 didn't seem to want to update with the engine off, but it went fine manually, with the engine running.

Still not sure what's different, but at least we know have the most current software on both cars.

One reason for this happening is the battery having a lower voltage. Go to Genesis Owners Homepage | MyGenesis and log in. Scroll down to the box labeled "CONNECTED SERVICES" and click on "VIEW CONNECTED SERVICES". Below the car picture click on "SEE ALL". When you get the VEHICLE STATUS click "REFRESH" and see the battery state of charge. I suppose that under 70% or so it is considered low enough to prevent the ISG and the software update with engine off from working properly, but do not quote me on the number. I had this issue and a couple of months later my battery died and needed to be replaced.

Mine was about 6 months old when it started to act up.

I checked this morning. The battery is at 85%, so it wasn't a battery issue. Isn't a big deal though. The update downloaded while the car was running and all I really wanted was the latest software, though I can't honestly see any changes in Maps (or I'm just missing whatever has changed). The GV70, which did update with the engine not running shows a battery percentage of 82%.

At least I now know how to check the battery in our GV70's, so thanks for showing me how!
