New System and MAP Update v16 in May

Did the last update change the quality of the sound. Maybe my brain is imagining it, but I was really happy with the sound quality before the update, now things seem flat. I moved my settings as they were before but still seems off. Also, nice to have the album art on Sirius but like y'all the UI is not the best. Sorry I mostly lurk, will try to contribute more.

I'm driving a '19 base G80, but I have to agree with you. A few updates before this one I noticed a sound improvement, but with this one, the sound is flatter, less dynamic, sounds like I'm listening to a desktop radio.

Also the volume is tuned down, even at max volume is not loud - certainly not as loud as it was before.

I need to get in there and play with the settings, maybe they just need resetting.

I'm still not seeing any v16 download available for my 2020 G70 in Canada. Looked all throughout the update.genesis.com site, mapnsoft site, as well as launching the Navigation Updater app on the computer to only see 15.x... as the latest version available.

I've done 3 other updates no problem on my own at home. Did this one get pulled offline again?

Update: I uninstalled the updater from my computer and redownloaded it from scratch, downloaded and imaged an SD card with whatever download it gave me, threw it in the car and it did do a 15min update procedure like usual. Not sure why the documentation is falling behind on their part but oh well.

Can you post a pic of the versions (Software, Firmware, Nav, Map) as seen on the car? I'm not sure if I'm up-to-date or not...

Genesis site says updates will happen OTA. Mine hasn’t updated on it’s own, I am not sure how to get it to download. The website says it will notify me of updates and it will start.

OTA is only supported in the newer models, 2022+ I believe. No experience with that myself though on these. You prob need to connect the car to WiFi though, not sure if it'll do the full update over cellular data

On my 2022 g70 online mine shows update now map updates. That’s it, will that also update radio features? My usb isn’t large enough, says needs 33 gb, mine is 16. Sound right?

I'd use a 32GB SD card, yeah

You might be seeing where it says you need ___ amount of space on your computer, as it needs more space on the computer as temp storage than on the SD card.

Trust, give a 32GB card a shot. I've reused the OEM 32GB card 3 or 4 times now.

Looks like the only difference as compared to the versions I have is the navigation app version. The one you have is newer.

Finally got mine downloaded and installed, took a while in the car. Haven’t had time to look at all of it. First thing I saw was the radio bulbs are gone and the satellite radio has channel art, I like it better.

And for the first 3 years of new car ownership, they will ship us an SD card in the mail, for free. Takes about a week to get it. We can choose FedEx at checkout, but I don't feel right sticking them with that expense. It's no rush to me.

Kind of useless and wasteful when you can just reuse your current SD card and flash the update yourself and much quicker than waiting for a new card to ship...
