  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New System and MAP update v17.0 coming in May!

Sometimes it is good as well to know your limits and update through the dealer.
And also good to extend your limits, or you'd never learn anything new:p. It's not hard, especially with help from here. There are a few things you need to know to successfully do it. First, download the update directly to a exFAT USB3 stick of 64Gb, by formatting it first, then starting the process of downloading the updater from Hyundai. Everything will go to your HD, except when you get to the actual downloading of the update, where the USB should show as the default drive to store it. And second (but it'll show up first), the system will tell you your vehicle is NOT registered, which is a bug, but just go proceed as a 'guest', and problem solved. Hope this helps.

I updated mine over the air as I was driving yesterday. Only took about 20 minutes in all.
So far
The good: they added the time to the camera view.
The bad (mostly annoying really): I lost 3 present stations and for some reason XM channel 0 was added to my presets.
I haven't noticed anything else yet.

Time on the camera view is from an older update, not this latest one.

Haven't experienced the "bad" with this update as you experienced.

Did update successfully with USB drive today on GV70(2023). Things to note (as others have said) .

1. Do not download update to your hard drive and then copy to USB - it will not work. You need to download the files directly to the USB drive.

2. Once in car and you've plugged into the USB port (I used same port that I plug iPhone in for Carplay) - then go to settings/general/ SW info and the Update button should be available to click.

3. After I clicked Update, the update started and showed a progress bar (it stays at 0% for a few minutes so don't panic). I let that go to about 10% with car running. I then hit Start/Stop buttong to stop the engine and then pushed Start/Stop button again (without stepping on brake) to put the car in Accessory mode. I then left the car (took my keys with me) and let it sit for about an hour. When you put car into Accessory mode, make sure you turn of your headlights using the switch on left side of steering wheel if you have them on AUTO - otherwise they will stay on for the hour.

3. I did not have to take any additional steps. When I cam back to the car everything was off (was no longer in accessory mode - so I am not sure if you even need to put car in accessory mode in the first place, but that's what I did). I started the care and the update was complete. You can confirm by going to the settings/general/update screen again and you should see the new date that you updated the software.

4. Return your lights to AUTO.

No need to leave it on accessory mode. It turns off automatically after exactly 1 hour anyway, which is not enough for the 1.5 hours needed for this latest update. I haven't done it on the G70 yet, because the update was pulled. But did it on the '22 SF Calligraphy, and took 1-1/2 hours. Geez. Will have to redo it on the SF, since it has a bug somewhere. Oh well.

I installed the update for my 2021 G70 same day and have had no issues so far since.

Any info as to why the update was pulled?

Maybe you meant the server down time for maintenance? Download service downtime notice for server maintenance > Notice | Official Genesis Navigation Update Website

Seems like the update is still available at this time.

perhaps I got lucky this time but 2 weeks ago my update to HD then to USB then to car worked fine.

The revised update for 22-23 G70s is NOT available yet (just checked again). And one bug reported was a speed limit of 25 mph on all streets. Maybe it's the only one, or maybe not; who knows. But it's taking more than it should. Hopefully we can download it again soon; we'll see.

To clarify, I reported this. The issues is that on unmarked rural roads in Michigan, the default speed limit is 55 Mph. In those areas, the nav system always reported the correct speed. Live of one of the roads, btw. Now it always reports 25 Mph, and it's not just the road I live off of, but all the rural roads I drive on.

Thank you for the clarification. Most of us wouldn't be affected by that, but there might be other issues with the update. I haven't used my SF, so no idea if I'd notice any changes with the 'corrupted' update. I still cannot download it for the G70, so assume it hasn't been re-released for Hyundais either.

Here it now reports 25 MPH for all the roads that it did not display a speed limit for before. Some of them are actually 20, most are actually 35 or 45, and some are more. Roads that it had speed limits for before are still correct.
