  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New System and Map Update v18.0 scheduled for... JUNE!

Your table looks exactly the same as the one I sent on September 1st and referenced above. So this does not indicate that the Software version was updated. (Today)

Unless they updated it on September 1st without announcing it yet, and I happened to download it then.
I'm hoping the notification on update.genesis.com is there but the actual update isn't out yet or else it's very deceiving after having waited this long for the update

Thats another option. It could be they released it earlier than announced and I happened to grab the software and table early (and posted it here on the 1st)

Or maybe it's just delayed for the G70, or maybe they just forgot to update the table.... I won't know for sure until I go back down to my car and start the update I downloaded today and compare the versions before and after the update at the car. I'm about to head down now, was a busy work day.

But I did the update on September 1st, so if the versions are the same, it means I either updated early before it was announced, or it's not released yet (or at all).

Seems to suggest the oldest gen of hardware isn't getting some of the features.

This has happened before...unsure why they are saying the 2019-2021 Standard Gen5 has an update if it'll be the same as back in Sept. The 2022+ G70 is getting a bump in SW and Map...

I can confirm that the the table correctly reflects the G70 2022+
I did mention below that it looked like they updated the table for all other models:

And to be clear, other cars like the G80, DID have the table updated for them. But not the G70s.
I'll still install it, might as well, but the Map version data is identical to what I downloaded on September 1st.

I didn't look at the 2022 specifically as my eyes were locked on the 2021. To me what this suggests those G70s (2021 and older) will be skipped for this update or delayed.

Or that it was released earlier than other models and just unannounced. But I find that less likely.

This is what I got when I loaded today's update and plugged into my Genesis G70

Honestly I think the table may be out of date or just wrong. The guys on the GV60 site are receiving a different OTA version than shown...

Also, there is no 2024 G70 even in the table.

But, I would expect that they will stop working on the 2021 and older G70. Overall, the G70 seems like a dead platform and almost none of the cars share the Standard Gen5 hardware so all signs point to you have your final version.

I would agree there seems to be some minor mistakes and oversights in the table, but we can also confirm it's been recently updated over the last week so it's not like it's abandoned and completely outdated.

It doesn't change the fact that for the G70s 2021 an older it seems accurate. Trying the SD card today give me no difference compared to the installed version.

It's too bad that they would drop it so soon. When you really think about it. A 2021 Genesis is only 3 years old.

But it has the tech of a 6 year old car. They moved past that Standard gen5 hardware very quickly.

Oh, I fully understand your point on that front.. I could argue that even 6 years old for a car isn't that old though.

I just connected my updated SD card and it is updating. So definitely something newer but probably that Sept 1 update which isn't much since we don't have wireless AA and carplay. Sad af

I'm just curious, do you also update usually as soon as they become available? Because before updating my car on September 1st, the last time I did it was last October (when the last notification was posted on the Genesis Site)

If you do, and I do, maybe what that really means is Genesis released ours earlier and just didn't broadcast it, may have been ready months ago to all I know.

Last time I did it was also last Oct 2023. Map version was like v16 or something

So your going to update to the same version as me start of September. Likely because our updates were simpler we got released earlier and just didn't know.

They probably had ours ready for when the other models were ready and just sent the one notification when they were all ready.

Yea cause if you look at mapnsoft and log in it actually says Aug 29...

Can you verify something for me? I just finished the update and first thing I noticed was that they FINALLY inverted seeking through a list when you're on Home screen. Press down on the steering wheel button actually now increases radio stations. It used to be you had to press up before.

Will take some used to since it's flipped now but it matches the XM screen when going down channels at least finally

The only "software" difference I noticed on our models so far is the car temperature readings when changing the temperature.

Just read this. Give me a few minutes to check!

Software version is literally from June 1st. That's so sad, after a full year of wait literally no major changes or enhancements for 19-21 G70

Yes there's little bars that change colors depending on temp now. White, blue, red

Confirmed on my side , using the built in radio from the home screen, selecting down on the wheel seek button now correctly does up through XM.

I honestly only ever use wireless Android Auto with the AAWireless so this is the type of change I wouldn't have even noticed myself haha🤣

It's just sad they didn't make an effort to introduce other things. Like literally nothing major in this update
