  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New tires

I drive a lesser car, but liking that my square setup on my base model has tires that last. Like being able to cross rotate. Sounds like these staggered setups really eat tires.

Manufacturers halve the warranty on the rears tires, if they are staggered.

I wouldn't say they eat tires, but if you're aggressive and turn TCS/ESC off it'll char the rears. In a past car ('05 Acura RL), I'd go through tires every year.

Yokohama Avid Ascend GT all season grand touring tires
Drove two years 40,000 kms , very good wet and dry
Will go next with the potenza RE 980 AS +
Hankook i*Cept EVO 2

Not a fan of touring tires on this car. It was originally designed with ultra high performance all season tires in mind.

They really don't "eat" them only seems like it because you don't have the benefit of being able to rotate 'em My Infiniti G37s was the same way. That being said, the driven wheels always wear faster than the others.

I'd shy away from those potenzas. I just came off them, and they lasted about 20k-ish miles on a 50K warrantied tire. I have a 3.8 ultimate, and even with the smaller engine, it just ATE through those.

Ouch, the newer "plus" model? The new revision came out this year with an "updated" (so they say) compound for better snow traction and tread life, which were sore spots for the original Potenza 980AS, I saw a lot of complaints about them being worn down by 20k.

Just got them on my 3.8 last month, they're a bit more "sporty" than most all seasons I've ran before, but so far quiet and ride smoothly. Though I will keep a close eye on the tread..

I'll need to take a look at my documentation, but I put them on the car in 2018 I believe.
