  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just picked up a 2023 GV60 Performance from Carmax. Right at 2 years old with 29K miles, so plenty of warranty left, especially as I tend to only keep my daily drivers 2-3 years. Traded in my 21 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk (loaded with all options). We've had a PHEV for a while, my wife's 2016 Cadillac ELR, which we love. I figured as I hadn't been using the Jeep for any offroading, just around town duty, it was time to switch over to something with a little more luxury and some EV performance. The Jeep had the V8, which was decent performance (6.5 second 0-60), but it was first and foremost designed to be able to off-road, and thus compromised for ride quality and luxury. Of course, for outright performance, I have a 2024 Corvette Z06 and am about to swap it for a 2025 Corvette ERay (performance hybrid).

Anyway, we'd been looking at a few EVs including the Cadillac Lyriq, Jaguar E-Pace (wife's sister just got one) the Genesis GV70 and the GV60. I also briefly considered mid-level EVs like the Mach-E, Blazer, etc, but ultimately I wanted something with more luxury and performance. Both my wife and I refuse to do Tesla (she hates Elon Musk, I really dislike the hit-or-miss build quality on them, and their refusal to do AndroidAuto/Carplay). With everything out there for EVs, the GV60 just ended up being the best choice for what I wanted out of a daily driver (I actually work from home, so it's not that much of a daily driver). We considered new, but ultimately the depreciation hit for only keeping one a few years is brutal, and I dislike having a monthly payment, so leases were out. I would have preferred to find one that was CPO, but given the limited selection (especially for Performance trim), I was lucky to find one at a Carmax a state away and paid the $199 transfer fee.

So far, it is everything I hoped it would be. The performance is great, for most use there's no need to hit the boost button. Of course, I use it a good bit anyway just because it has it and I love acceleration. The wife's ELR is quick, but it's just FWD with a single electric motor. The GV60 with boost mode is shockingly ;) fast. Plus it's got all the luxury and tech I could want. The ride is excellent, the handling is decent, the controls are great (I absolutely love having physical buttons/switches for most things), and everything has been fairly easy to figure out. The interior is amazingly roomy, and actually has more passenger room than my Grand Cherokee did in the rear seat, and my wife loves that there's no center hump and that there's the open area between the front seats for her to sit her purse (little things like that can make a huge difference). My only real complaint so far is the tiny buttons on the key fobs (getting old and needing reading glasses sucks), but I'm sure I'll get used to the button placement over time, besides you really don't need the buttons on the fobs in everyday use.

I do need to get it into the local Genesis dealer for service as it has 3 open recalls (21G, 910G & T39G) for ICCU, VCMS & OTA stuck (which mine is stuck at 63% for the update). Fortunately I already had a wireless AA adaptor I was using on the Jeep and it works fine with a USB-C adaptor, but it will be nice to get the native wireless AA/CP working. I've also got an electrician coming out to do a 240V/50A install so I can run a Grizzl-E Duo charger for both the GV60 and the wife's ELR.

I, too, am very happy with my GV60 decision. It is the right combo of lux and performance to hit the sweet spot of an intro to EV for us.
I find no reason to use the key fob anymore. Generally, my phone works, but I have the credit card key and keep that in my wallet for emergencies. Between fingerprint, face ID, Digital phone key, and credit card key I seem to have plenty of options.
My 2024 did not come with the credit card, so I ordered one from parts, and the sales manager gave it to me gratis, but your 2023 should have come with one. I know you posted about finding the key fob, but you may want to check at the bottom of the glove box. When we set this one up, there was already one associated with the car, and the sales rep who was helping me looked there since he said that is where they usually reside when the car is delivered. We did not find one and deleted it, but not sure why the car had one set up already.

Congrats and welcome to the club. Do you mind mentioning what you paid for it at Carmax and did you get the Carmax extended warranty?

$42,999, so about $27K off the original MSRP. I did not take the CarMax warranty since it still has almost 3 years and 30K miles left on the factory warranty, and I will probably swap to something else before that expires.

Great deal and congrats! What color is your interior? One word of warning in case you didn't know, when you buy non-certified used, the powertrain warranty is cut in half but if you are swapping out before either the bumper to bumper or powertrain ends, then that's a non-issue.

The vehicle looks to be in pristine condition. Nice find!

Thanks, the interior is black. I liked the grey interior of the new one we looked at, but not enough to pay new prices. Plus I'm always concerned on light interiors how well they will wear.
Yes, I was aware on the cut on the powertrain, but like I said, I'll probably have moved on to something else by then anyway. I saw a couple of CPO GV60 Performance for sale for a little less, but they would have all required transport that would have brought them back up to a similar price point (or higher) and I wouldn't have gotten the tax credit for trade-in. And if I do decide to keep it longer, I'm sure I can find an extended warranty for it.

Anyway, yes, it's in really good shape, honestly looks brand new inside & out. I'm really enjoying driving it as well, absolutely great vehicle.
