Hey guys. So, I took my kids through the automatic car wash today (they love it!) in my '09 4.6 Genesis. As we entered onto the conveyor, I immediately start responding to work emails ,via iPad, that needed responding to. Neigh did I realize, until it was too late, that I had left my automatic windshield wipers in the 'on' position. Needless to say that upon exit of said car wash my wipers no longer worked .. I imagine them straining beyond their limited capacity under the weight of the blue scrubby spaghetti brushes, until they no longer could fight the overwhelming onslaught and some component gave up. They now come about a third of the way up and stop. I then have to manually push them down, out of my direct field of view.
What do you guys think I screwed up? Stripped a gear? Fried the motor? Is it a repair I can do with my limited mechanical know how? Should I get a pro???!
Any advice is appreciated. Hopefully, I am posting in the right place. Cheers.
