  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New York: Checking out the Genesis Prestige in person

I really hope this car falls under the "Genesis" brand name. Hyundai really needs to get this sub-brand rolling. They can sell the cars in Hyundai showrooms if they want - for now...

At any rate, this is my next vehicle if it's available here in a couple of years.

There are two different Equus that are being shown in pictures. There is the regular 5 seater and then there is the 4 seater with reclining backs seats. This option brings the price of the LS 460L to $87.4K. While the base of the V6 Equus may be in the high 40's, there is a distinct chance that a "loaded"
V8 model could be in the in the $70K range. Again, my opinion only, that would be a bargain compared to a $90K MB, BMW, Audi etc.

knock the lawn ornament off the hood and it is a great looking car.

There is another version w/ a horizontal-slatted grille and an Equus badge on the hood.

I doubt that Hyundai would bring over the loaded "limo" version unless they actually go ahead w/ spinning off the Genesis moniker - just like how they stripped the USDM Genesis of some "goodies" in order to keep the MSRP from getting too high.

But yeah, a limo version in the high $60k/near $70k range would be a deal.

The rear seat doesn't look quite as roomy as the LS-L or 7 series L in those pictures. Is there any specs to be found of interior room??

I'm waiting for Equus specs as well. I doubt rear seat legroom would be any less than a 750Li, LS460L or S550. That would be a mistake. In any event, if the Equus tops out at $70k or so, it'll still be a bargain. I just don't think Hyundai will sell many. They need to price the first year very low to attract followers. Once they get them, they'll be hooked. Then they can slowly raise the price and gauge interest in that range...

Nice looking car. They need to come up with a standardized grille between the Genesis and the Equus to give some uniform brand identity to Genesis sedans.

Good idea. And very true.. I prefer the Equus grille, however.. And I like how they use the horizontal bars for the v6 and the vertical for the v8...

Well, either way, I'm not in the market for an Equus. If they do what my sig says, import an L Genesis, then I am INTERESTED!
