  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Next Azera Video- Interior is very Acura TL-ish. Is this a prelude for the next Genny

Not too fond of anything but the rear of the vehicle looks nice

I was actually thinking the same thing. XF at the rear (which is a good thing):)

My dads actually waiting for this car to sell in the North American market and it sounds like he pretty much will buy it. He is intersted in the new Volvo S60, but he already said he doubts buy the Volvo just due to the price alone.

This would be his 1st Hyundai.

The S60 is a much smaller car. The EPA designates it as a compact. The Azera gets a Large Car designation, same as the Genesis. Also the S60 probably has a sporty nature especially in 3.0T w/ AWD. The Azera will probably be more like a Lexus ES 350. I guess it really depends what he's looking for. Knowing what my retirement aged father would like, he would never drive something as small as a G37 or S60. For some reason older people what to feel like they're on their couch.

Ha Ha Ha:D That's funny...and I know what you mean about the couch thing. My dad is 60 and can't make up his mind. He was VERY interested in the Lexus ES, but told him about it being a Camry with lipstick, and once he thought about it, he agreed. THANK GOD! He mentioned looking at the Volvo S80, but he's really not sure. He actually needs to get out there and drive some cars.

You can get a used ES 350 for cheap, there are a ton of them out there. For most people that's all the car you're ever gonna need, and it will last forever. I know mechanically it shares the same chassis and drive train as a Camry, but that's it. It has a totally different interior and sheet metal. It's not a car for me, simply because I don't drive FWD cars and it's too soft. But I'm sure my mom would love it.

I really like the new Azera. I wonder if we should have an Azera section on this site for potential owners. Hyundai's luxury cars are really impressive these days.

I had an Azera for 4 years before buying the Genesis. I really liked the car, except for the FWD and lack of nav (which I hardly every use, but still...). If I were interested in replacing my Genesis, which I am not, I would give a close look at the new Azera.

Wow, I really like the exterior. The front reminds me of a Camry for some reason, but better executed. The side and back are awesome. That C-pillar is seriously sexy. (Holy crap, did I just write that a C-pillar is sexy?)It's pretty amazing to think that if they keep this up Hyundai is going to be known as much for their gorgeous cars as for value for dollar. As for the interior, Azera's main gauge cluster looks clean but the center stack with the nav and radio... meh. Not a disaster but not inspired either.

As an aside, this really makes me shake my head to think of the contrast with my formerly beloved Hondas/Acuras, which are just ugly and/or frumpy. Did Hyundai buy Honda's California design studio around 2005? :p I mean, check out the "inspired and elegant" reflector treatment they slapped on the trunklid of the Accord:

What genius came up with that one? But regardless, maybe the Azera will push Honda to change course. For years the Accord was cooler looking than the Camry and the Camry outsold it. Maybe they figured "hey, our cars look too good! We need to emulate the class leader and make them uglier!"

Anyway, I'll stop now. Somehow my "Azera looks good" post turned into an anti-Honda rant!

I do agree that the previous Accord without the horizontal rear lights (everything else on rear otherwise the same) looked better than the current models. One problem they have is that it is customary to change the rear tail lights two years after new model introduction (refresh), and if the original design is already good, then they sometimes just end up going backwards (making it less attractive) when they changes it.

Sounds good to me, my wife is holding off on a Sonata or Optima purchase to check out the new Azera.

I just traded my 06' Azera on the Genesis, couldn't be happier. The 12' Azera looks great. I may consider trading for this in a few years.
