  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Nice day, shot some pics of the R-Spec.

I'll buy one if one of the Parts Houses will match the R-Spec Black and Coat 100%.
I'm kind of 'retentive' as my friends put it about my cars, but I really want one.

Maybe a group buy on this is in order.
Buy them un-painted and send them out to a reputable paint house familiar with Genesis Color and Coat??
Just a thought.

What are the Tint percentages on that car?
I'm going with 50% on the front two, 5% on the rear five.

I went ahead and sent an inquiry to carid.com about the color on the spoilers.

Here is my question to them:
I want to order your item:

JKS-Custom Style Rear Lip Spoiler
Item Number: 66408
2012 Hyundai Genesis Sedan
Color Code = AF - Black Noir Pearl

On the web site, I can only choose 2010 Model, there is no 2012 on the selection bar.

But have a consern about the color matching.

I read on the Genesis forums that the color match itself is very good, but the clear-coat doesn't match factory.
A few people said the metallic tinting in the clear-coat is wrong. (the pearl "Sparkle" is missing)

Has this issue been corrected?

There are a few of us at the genesis forums wanting to buy this item...
Please advise.

Here is their answer:

Hello,

Thank you for your interest in our products, we look forward to serving you.

I checked few forums and wikipedia for you. Seems that the spoiler will fit a 2012 car.
The paint code is not a problem at all. We guarantee the 100% match

Each spoiler gets painted with three coats plus an additional two layers of clearcoat for added protection as well as a stellar factory finish.

When you make your purchase be sure to use my personal coupon code [edited out] to take advantage of my special pricing.

Please reply to me with your confirmation number so that I can expedite the order through the process for you and quality assure that everything is correct.

Please let me know if you have additional questions about the item. Thanks

Sincerely,
Mitch Sander

Just a FYI:

According to Official Hyundai Service, the 2012 R-Spec is not painted color code (AF), it is painted Black Noir Pearl (RY)

What they say is:

2012 GENESIS(BH) R-SPEDC SEDAN
INT_COLOR BLACK (AF)
EXT_COLOR BLACK NOIR PEARL (RY)

Nice pics!

Very nice. Did anyone drill, or just use the 3M tape? I read the instructions for both on the Carid website about this. $217 it seemed.

Ive taken pictures of my R-spec but have not been able to upload them the system tells me file is large. What can i do?

Mine came painted with the double-sided tape already applied. I just used that. Didn't feel like drilling into the car...
