  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just got my wheels and tires delivered this week. I went with Niche Lucerne (Anthracite) 20x9 +35 on all 4. I bought Continental ExtremeContact DWS "06" tires, 265/35/20 on all 4 also. It took me forever to decide on this combination of wheels, color, and tires.

I had the wheels and tires installed yesterday but we just got hit by an ice storm and I haven't had a chance to get pictures of the car yet.

I will post the car pictures as soon as we thaw out a little.

Those are great tires and the wheels really look nice. Let’s see them on the car.

Finally got some free time tonight. Sorry about the photo quality but it is still cold here.

The tires fit perfectly in the wheel wells. It is hard to see from the pictures, but, the tires almost line up with the top of the wheel wells.

There is about a half inch gap between the wheels and the brake calipers so no spacers were needed.

I did a lot of research and hunting to track these rims and tires down so that I would get form and function. My second place wheel was the Vossen CV5 but couldn't get the offset I wanted or the finish that I liked.

So far, I am extremely impressed with the tires. Superb traction in the rain and still quiet! The added width is nice to have also :)

Very nice. My wheels arrive tomorrow.

I should have some time during daylight hours shortly. It is dark when I get off work and my weekends lately have been either busy with other endeavors or bad weather.

As promised, a few more pictures. It was overcast during some pictures but the lighting was sufficient.

Any benefit to the caliper covers besides aesthetics? Do they really lessen brake dust on the wheels? Was thinking about buying some but weren't sure if they were worth it.

On the 1st Gen, aesthetics are a big part of it, as the front calipers are painted black, while the rear ones are painted silver, which simply make them standout that much more, especially with a thin spoke wheel.

But come to think of it, although the new wheel set are somewhat on the darker side, I have not seen much break dust after adding these covers, even though I continue to test my breaks to their upper limits on regular basis...

Beautifully done my man!

If you add nice caliper covers, we will have cars that may reflect a remarkably similar taste :D

I have been watching your mods. I have to say I am a fan of the things you have done to yours also.

I am by no means finished with what I am wanting to do with this car.

I have considered caliper covers but I am leaning more towards a Brembo swap.

The only challenge I have is a that my wife is an accountant so filling out the cost/benefit analysis paperwork is rather challenging :o
