  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

To start off, I test drove the Genesis yesterday (premium plus) and I loved it. I never drove a BMW, Lexus, infiniti, or mercedes, so I have nothing to compare to except my Mitsu Galant. It was great. One thing that I didn't know was that when you shift into reverse, the side mirrors angle downward so that you can see parking lines on each side of the car.

I got a chance to take it on the highway for about 1.5 miles and just gunned it. Before I knew it, I was at 100 miles and never felt not one gear shift. Even when it downshifted I never felt the shiftting. Night and day compared to my 04 galant. This made me want the Genesis real soon...

So I got home and was happy and told my wife this. She comes out and tells me "We're pregnant". I wanted to just curse and laugh at the same time. Yeah it's good because it will be my first born; so I'm excited but man, a Genesis would have made me just as excited.

So no Genesis for me know, especially since the false advertisement: starting under $30,000....yeah right. Maybe if the fully-loaded was $35K-$36K I might have been able to swindle some kind of deal.

Congratulations! I have two little ones and they are awesome. I can tell you that the Genesis would be way less expensive! Even if you had opted for the loaded V8!

How does the name Genesis sound for your first born?

Congrats on your first!

For those who are put off by the mirror thing, know that it is an adjustable option, on or off. Default from the factory is ON.

Congrats! As they say, timing is everything. Maybe in a couple years you'll be able to swing a lightly used Genesis for around $25k. Kids are rough on cars, so used is the way to go IMO.

Congratulations on your first baby. Carmack Car Capital in Danville Il has a dark blue V6 base model that stickers for $33,000. I'll bet you can get a manager's demo with a rebate in January or Febuary for under 30k.

Congratulations on your first (soon-to-be) kid! Don't feel so bad! You're letting all the first owners deal with the "first year" bugs - which we should start hearing about eventually. By the time you're ready, everything will have been worked out...

Congrats! Soon you will need a bigger car to haul the gang around...

Don't begrudge Hyundai for offering a base Genesis for MSRP $32,250. It is a load of car for the money. Show your wife those rear AC vents for rear seat comfort and dont forget all those airbags...

Well I'm still going to the Tour today just to stick it to myself that I can't have the car. I guess maybe in a couple of years (hopefully if the price doesn't rise), I'll get one. Maybe they might include some newer features too.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If you are going to the tour today, you may want to grab a $500 coupon (or two). I got one myself at the tour but there are some folks on this forum that are still looking for one. If you have no takers, you could probably sell it on e-bay!

Don't sell it on ebay... people are helping other fellow members here and they're just sending it to them.

I would be interested in the coupon since I plan on getting the Genesis but the tour won't be coming till sometime in Sept. I would like to have my Genesis before then so the coupon would definitely come in handy.

OTOH, congrats on your first baby... Trust me, the feeling of being a proud Daddy surpasses the feeling of getting any new car anytime. Best wishes!!!! :)

Congratulations!

We have three kids in daycare, and for what it costs I could be commuting in a Dodge Viper. But being a parent is the best thing in the world, and I wouldn't trade it for a billion dollars.

I have 2. Few million........never. A billion.....it's a trade!

My 16-year old son asked my wife,
"How come Dad is looking for a new car, there is nothing wrong with his Dodge. I thought he was supposed to be getting *me* a car?"

I hope he's got a very good job. :p
