  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First time Hyundai owner and poster, your patience is appreciated.

Proud new owner to an '09 Gen Sedan, Prem/Tech, Silver/Black, 23k - really enjoy the car for the last 36 hours since aquisition. Compared it to 528, G35-37/M35, ES350, Acuras, etc. Overall best comfort, features, size & value.

Looking specifically for guidance on service in the Tulsa area, as I've been hit with the come-and-go No-Sound from the audio system problem, and based on those threads plan on taking it in for an assessment.

In the Tulsa area, any guidance on Don Carlton vs. Regional Hyundai in Broken Arrow?

Many Thanks

As you already know, this is a well known problem with the 09's. You can take it to your dealer and tell them about it, however, many dealers are "Dxck Heads" and you may have to complain many times, when they don't see the problem. (I'm sorry mister xxxx, but we can't duplicate the problem). Best bet is if you live close enough to your dealer (or any dealer) when the problem happens again, just drive direct to the dealer, DO NOT SHUT THE IGNITION OFF, then have both the Service Writer and the Genesis Technician see what is happening, with no audio. Yes the audio will come back only after you shut the ignition off, for at least 5 to 10 minutes, then turn ignition back on, but it sure is a pain in the xxx.

Hyundai knows about the problem and the fix is to change the amplifier.

BTW, I had my amp changed out last year, and I had the problem again, exactly 1 year and 5 or 6 days later. (grrrrrr). So far, only once in that thirteen months.

Bob - thanks for the quick reply. I plan on an "presumptive replacement" approach. I have an X car, with known problem Y, and I want to come in on Z date for you to fix it.

Will advise...

Bad news. I have a 2011 4.6 with 400 miles and it happened to me today. After restarting car 5 minutes later it worked. Mine involved a voice command to change stations. When it changed there was no sound. I wonder if there is a tsb on this?
