  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well, after much thought I ended up getting some 19's (had been thinking of 20's) from WheelDude. Satin Black..

Linea Corse LC818 19x8.5 front and 19x10 in the rear I think 30 offset front and 38 rear. (it's what is on their site under genesis sedan) I made the mistake of not specifying when placing the order that it was for the Genesis (I think it defaults to the Lexus fitment when the order is placed and the only difference is the hub rings). They shipped out a set of the correct hub rings after I mentioned it for free though.

Wheels were delivered a couple weeks ago, and just had to wait for tires. I originally had planned 255/35 and 295/30 Vredestein Ultra Sessanta's but ended up changing my mind over a week into my order (they were on back-order anyway).

End decision came out to be 245/45's and 275/40's General G-Max AS-03's. TO me they are a little louder then the Continentals or the Vredestein's would have been but I didn't want to lose that much tire diameter. So I compromised, traction is a lot better then the Continentals and the ride is a lot softer though. Did I mention the ride is a lot softer?

Since I had to wash the lovely Vegas dust off it, I attempted to take some pictures. You can click on the image to view my horrible-excuse-for-a-photographer-photos. Yes these were taken from my camera phone. Though I know it needs to be detailed sometime as well.

I know everyone has their own taste in wheels, and for me these look rather nice. I know I now need to paint the calipers since Hyundai so nicely mismatched the colors.

I'll put on the center caps at some point, I just got lazy.

Maybe sometime I'll see if someone wants to take some better pictures of it, you guys might suggest "by someone who knows the front from the back of the camera..."

I did however get my first roadside compliments, mostly just me needing to tell them what kind of car it isn't.

Very nice. Love the matte black. to me there is too much sidewall. I woud've gotten smaller tires or 20's. Just my .02

Yep, completely agree.

That was exactly my struggle in choosing. These tires are .4 inch taller then the stock setting the speedo off 1.3%, however my other option (which I canceled) would have been off by 4.8% (in the opposite direction).

Struggled with the decision for a month and decided this was best, since road construction in Vegas usually takes 5 years from start to finish, yet they constantly start more roadwork... go figure.

If I lived in a nicer place with better roads (and drivers) I'd probably do 20's or the shorter tires.

Hyundai's choice of tire diameter is a tough one, since they are so tall on the 2012's. (2011 might be similar?)

That is one angry looking car!!! Hopefully you painted the front grill....

Looks great man! I like the taller sidewalls actually. With the right wheels they look totally fine and you preserve the smooth ride.

Love those wheels! The curve from center to outer edge of rim compliments the curved edges nicely! I was looking for a similar wheel by Wedsport that had more exaggerated curves, but can't find. I also like the sporty look, but agree with the high sidewall stance. Beats alternative of low sidewall and ruining the ride though. ;)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I think you did some great choices and it shows. Thanks for taking your valuable time to share with photos. Must be hard as you slip inside the cockpit not to generate a grin, knowing it's all yours...

I'm liking those so much I think I might do the same thing, but different color. What kind of deal did you get from wheel dude?

Apologies for the late response, been an incredibly busy month and haven't caught up on the email notifications.

I paid wheeldude's list price. Free shipping and good service were hard to argue with. I got a good deal on the car, what's a few dollars here and there for accessories?

I was originally going to get some long Kic's lugs, but ended up saving 150$ and getting some inner spline and locking lugs off ebay in black. (Think they were like $25)

Traction control comes on a lot less (must have heavy toes or something) than with the stock tires. So far very pleased. I'll have to get some better pictures at some point to toss up.

Dubai, haven't painted the front grill yet, still debating how much chrome should be left on before I do much else.

While I'm a fan of larger diameter wheels and lower sidewalls, I have to say that I'm kind of liking the aggressive look your new rears are giving the car.

I also have 8.5" front and 10" rear but in 20's and with very low profiles but my car is lowered quite a bit. Unless you are going to lower the car, having more sidewall helps fill in the gap. The extra rubber on yours gives it a meaner look.

Good job!:)
