  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

No wings on Steering Wheel????

How does one get the OEM one?

How does one get the OEM one?
Terminology problem.

  • OEM is the one that comes on US or Canadian model Genesis
  • KDM is the one that comes on Korean domestic model Genesis
How do you get KDM version? Same place the wings come from. There are various importers who purchase the KDM versions in Korea from Hyundai and sell them in the US. Some of them have listings on Ebay. In this case, to get the KDM version of steering wheel wings you have to purchase a new KDM air bag assembly which costs several hundred dollars.

I ordered mine from SFR and arrived in 5 days from Korea. The swap takes 10 minutes and well worth it. Pictures attached. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1336232546.461436.webpImageUploadedByTapatalk1336232579.935621.webp

Plus I sold the original OEM airbag on eBay so you can get the cost down to 60-80 bucks after you sell the original.

I did the same thing. Sold my OEM airbag in like 2 days. Total cost for the KDM bag after the sale of my OEM was $95. I don't think I charged enough for my OEM airbag, but I'm happy:)

I had the stickup badge, too it off, looked awful. Plus if you happen to press on the horn on it, it will dent.

To remove it, just wedge a business card or some detal floss in a corner and pull it off. Obviously, do not use any sharp objects, no screwdrivers or scissors unless you want to end up with a gauged air bag cover.

What kind of work/tools are involved to swap the air bag assembly?
Multiple other threads in this forum on this subject with detailed pics (maybe videos, don't recall), going back several years.
