  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What up all? I currently drive a 2006 rally yellow cobalt ss supercharged. I've been a member of cobaltss.net since its beginning and I was stationed in Guam where the cobalt wasn't offered. Once I got back to the states, I bought one. I have loved it since. Only thing I would change about it is making it RWD. lol. But ever since Hyundai has been releasing info about the Genesis coupe, I've been super interested. Now with all the reports saying that the turbo 4 is the same as the mitsu motors in the evo and ralliart, I'm even more interested as I am a DSM'er at heart. Plus it's RWD. And I heard that they are going to be making other variants like a lightweight version or convertible. So I'm interested to see what hyundai does with this car. I can tell you now, I'd be SUPER interested in a lightweight version (similar to the evo RS). Anyways, I've brought a lot of good info and research to the cobalt forums and if I get a genesis coupe, I'm sure I'll bring lots of insight here as well. I look forward to helping this site develop into a great one whether I own the car or not.

BTW, the cobalt has went 13.6@100mph with 222whp 201wtq. I'm currently deployed (I get home this saturday) and I have a few parts waiting to go on and I should be able to put down well over 270whp and run mid 12's.

Welcome aboard, Ralliartist! Thank you for signing up! And thank you for your service! It is greatly appreciated!

As for your Cobalt.. 13.6, huh? That's very, very impressive.. Mid 12s would just be insane! Do keep us posted on that!

In regards to the Hyundai Genesis Coupe - it does sound right up your alley! Especially since you're a DSM guy.. I'm moving this post into the Genesis Coupe area. It's a little slow in there because the Genesis Coupe isn't available yet - but it should start seeing some action soon. Besides, we just added the Coupe forum a few days ago... :)

cool, thanks a lot for responding. Yea, I leave today to go back home. So, I'm super excited as I'll start adding the new parts to the cobalt next week. I'll head to the dyno on October 12th and then I should be able to make it to KCIR by the middle of October. I'll update the post. But next year when the genesis coupe comes out, I'm definitely checking them out. I am going to try and get the dealer to let me have one for the weekend if I like what I see at the dealership. Then if I go the whole weekend with a smile on my face, I think I'll end up trading in. Obviously the Genesis will be slower stock compared to my modded cobalt ss, but the modding potential of the genesis with the evo motor will be tremendous. I know for a fact that with 25psi and a reflash, the evo's go mid 12's. The genesis is a ton lighter and I already have mickey thompson slicks so I'll cut the same if not better sixty foots.

Don't forget about that RWD either! That'll help as well.. You're right about the potential...

So are you home yet?

Yea, I got home sunday. I'm going to get my header and downpipe put on the cobalt today. Probably start taking the supercharger and intake manifold off later today.

Welcome home! Thanks for your service. Good luck getting a dealer to let you take a highly anticipated, limited production, turbocharged car home for the weekend! :p

Shouldn't be a problem. It's just a hyundai right?

left lane both times, 13.2@104mph with a 1.9 sixty spinning

I'm not happy, I think the tune gets too rich up top. I'm trying to get a wideband to check it out. If the car don't go 12's on the current setup, I'll definitely be checking out the genesis coupe.

It's amazing how Hyundai is now being thought about... by prospective buyers who not so long ago would have considered it as the last car they would ever consider purchasing. (Including me.) A Hyundai? Get real. No way. But now... WAY way!

That's why they're calling it a "game changer". And the Hyundai Genesis certainly is...
