  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not a Good Day for my Genesis

Ed that is one crazy story, glad your alright buddy.
Ed I’m sorry this happened to you. I hope you are alright and so your Genesis will be also. Thank the Lord for his constant vigilance and care. I hope she was insured and you are taken good car of.

Blessings

Sadly my guess is if she's that crazy and wreckless, she doesn't have any insurance.

For Ed’s sake I hope she does.

I try not to make to make personal assumptions about who or what she is or what she does or doesn’t have. I don’t have any idea personally.but this is just me.

She did have a valid insurance card, but it does not mean she paid the bill. Same insurance company as mine so that may make it easier.

Best of luck. Looks like the circumstances following your accident are getting stacked in your favor. I hope it is an easy resolution.

I like my 2012 Genesis 3.8L sedan and I really like a rear wheel drive car. I don't know if I want a new car with turbo's like the Stinger and it is hard to find many choices with a naturally aspirated v6 like the Genesis I have, which does have plenty of power for me. I would have thought to take the Genesis 3.8L v6 and to add two turbos would have made a lot more than 365hp. I think my 2012 was rated 333hp but I could be wrong.
I know the Lexus ES350 is FWD but I may look at one and give a test drive when I get more serious about a new car purchase. If I were going to buy used, I think I would shop for another Genesis if you like it enough or a Lexus GS350.
Please let us all know what cars you consider and test and what you end up choosing.

Thanks. Wish I had a dash cam
Got an estimate this morning $6400.

Not surprised with that estimate, when I looked into the G80 Sport conversion from the stealership, 4 out of the 30 pieces already costed about 3500 so yeaaa.

Yep. I've thought of that, especially if there is an Ultimate 3.8 at that price. The 2015s have some things the later years don't have.

Plenty of 3.8 ultimates for under $30k

OP: sorry about your car and your wife's toe.

Reminds me of the guy riding his motorcycle in flip-flops who had his hallux (look it up) amputated in a wreck.

A good samaritan runs out in the street, dodging traffic, and plucks the severed digit off the pavement, places it in a cooler full of ice, and calls 911.

The 911 operator tells him that an ambulance will be there shortly to pick up the motorcyclist, and that a special vehicle will be dispatched to pick up the detatched dactyl.

After 5 minutes the ambulance arrives, and a minute later up drives the ...

...wait for it...

toe truck.
