26 is what my wife normally get. Once she was driving home from somewhere over a stretch of 70 miles. She managed to get 29.6 out of the car. she drive 75% highway.

I had almost the exact mileage from my V8 Monday when I drove a 250 mile round trip to see a sick friend. Location was the Texas Hill Country and cruising speed was 70+.

I recently put Michelin Energy Savers on the car. Not much difference in mileage around town. The benefit seems to be at cruising speed.

The Michelins ride better than the Dunlops ever did. There is much less jitter on bad pavement. Hard to describe, but there is a feeling of softness without any deterioration in handling.

As to noise, the Michelins are a bit quieter than the Dunlops were when the Dunlops were new and a whole lot quieter than the Dunlops at 24,500 miles when replaced. The Dunlops got noisy at about 10,000 miles and stayed noisy.

i guess i will replace the dunlops once it gets noisy.

I average about 14mpg per tank. So you got me by a lot. I'm a bit aggressive on the throttle though....

While sediment may be one concern, the bigger concern is that the fuel pump uses fuel as coolant. If the tank is empty, the pump is much more likely to overheat and stop working.
