This is the most I've squeezed out of a tank of gas..... do you think I was running on fumes?
I had almost the exact mileage from my V8 Monday when I drove a 250 mile round trip to see a sick friend. Location was the Texas Hill Country and cruising speed was 70+.
I recently put Michelin Energy Savers on the car. Not much difference in mileage around town. The benefit seems to be at cruising speed.
did you notice any difference in the ride or noise level when you switched to Michelin?
The Michelins ride better than the Dunlops ever did. There is much less jitter on bad pavement. Hard to describe, but there is a feeling of softness without any deterioration in handling.
As to noise, the Michelins are a bit quieter than the Dunlops were when the Dunlops were new and a whole lot quieter than the Dunlops at 24,500 miles when replaced. The Dunlops got noisy at about 10,000 miles and stayed noisy.
I average about 14mpg per tank. So you got me by a lot. I'm a bit aggressive on the throttle though....
I would have driven around the gas pump till I hit 500

I thought that it wasn't a good idea to run the tank that low because of sediment at the bottom. Is that true?
