If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Are you shifting yourself? I've tried both ways, and letting the car shift itself at roughly 5800RPM has been my best times. I'll be lowering that to 5500RPM when Lozic retunes my ECU and TCU, as well as him adding some power due to some future upgrades.
Did you ever get this sent back in? What did you set your shift points to? What made you decide to lower them?

I am paddle shifting yes. I am still getting used to how much faster 1st and 2nd gear is with this ECU tune. Ideally first I want to shift by 5400 the latest 1st to 2nd. Then 2nd to 3rd i want to shift around 5600ish.

Ill shave .1 (ish) off once I get the shfits down perfect. I just need to cut a 1.6 60ft when I do a full 1/4 mile pass. that 1.61 60ft would have been 11.0x-11.1 all day.
How did you determine these were the best shift points for the gear?

Trial and error. But mainly looking at the data and seeing where boost starts to fall off. You want to shift before boost falls off so it holds the same boost to the next gear. That way you don't lose acceleration (gforce) and it will greatly improve 1/4 mile times.

Makes perfect sense! My boost in 1st starts to drop at 4800-5000. I just wonder if that is a little too early to shift? Also that gear moves so fast it’s hard to time the shift! When do you try to move to 4th and 5th etc? You still at 5300 1-2 and 5600 2-3.

it takes some getting used to. I have now found inf 1st gear, if i pull the paddle at 4k it will shift at like 5-5200 which is perfect. 1st and 2nd go quick so its all timing.

5k, 5.2k, 5.4k, 5.6k for shifts is the sweet spot. Give it a go and time it. you will see it will improve at least .2 seconds if you can get it.

Nice!!! So it’s even earlier than you originally thought for 2nd and 3rd? I’ll definitely try this. Thanks!

Shift rpm is dependent on the torque curve. If you are stock, these are likely too low for you.

Yep. Trial and Error. Main thing is to do a run and look at your log to see where you are dropping boost.

If you have a log, post it or send it to me and I can give ya some shift points.

That’s awesome of you. I’ll do at least some 0-60 logs and send them to you. I have intakes and plugs and JB4 so far. Map2 is the max at the moment. I’m doing TCU tune next.

Do a log from stop all the way to 5th gear. that way we can see all the RPM/boost per gear.

I have the jb4 installed in my g70 but I haven't installed the fuel wires yet or the OBD plug ( I think that's what it's called ) 😂

Would anyone recommend that I install these? It showed optional in installation instructions and where I live there is only 91 octane gas so I'm not trying to make my car a race car, its still a daily lol

For sure install them. It's free power

Fuel wires just give more HP at higher RPM’s.

So zero effect if you enjoy off the line torque.

OBD connection is required for Map 2+. Without it…Map 1 is all you get.

With 91…map 2 will work (not the best)…but you’ll still sport a chubby.

Yeah I'm more for off the line torque for sure! And definitely like to drive around with a chubby so I will install it tomorrow 😂

So skip the fuel wires.

Next…you can increase your octane with booster. I used Boostane Pro.

Mixed it with 93 to run 99 !!

With 91 you can mix to ~96. Then you run map 3. Now yer running 4 second car.

My faut for answering the JB4 question but let's move this to a JB4 thread and out of the 0-60.

Due to the snow I haven’t been able to do a full run yet. Although I do assume it’s fairly close to your recommended shift points. I have an odd question- when roll racing, let’s say a 40 that would change your shifts points higher rpm correct? Well at least 2nd gear. Hope that makes sense.
