  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Official 0-60 & 1/4 mile thread

^^ Yup, agree with both of you. It's winter now though, so I just run 87.. Just foolin' around because I got the Dragy.

I did try launch control once and got an interesting result. Rear's started to slip (awd) and after about 1-2 seconds, I let go of the brake and got a really good launch for about 10 ft and then big power cut. Odd. That would have been a very good run to 60.

I'll try again soon and see if I can get it right. 🤔

It probably only cut cause you were spinning. My car does it too and I’m rwd. It just couldn’t figure out why the fronts were going like 30-40 and the rears like 100 haha. So it cuts you off. Just mess around with it and you will get it down. I’m guessing once you learn it you could be a 4.2-4.4 on 87. And quicker on 91 I’d bet. I’m jealous that I didn’t get an awd haha

Just now seeing this thread. What app is that you're using to capture the 0-60 data?

Dragy. It's a little device that measures 0-60, 1/4 mile and lots of other things. Very accurate!

It’s about 150$ but has a good refresh rate for data. Worth it in my opinion for someone like myself that’s new to fast cars and caught the need for speed/ performance bug. So it’s great as a measuring tool of how your car is progressing and how well you are learning the car.

Okay, found it. Sure beats holding phone / stopwatch in one hand and doing the 0-60 thing with the other!

Must be a different app than Dragy...

You are gonna be cookin when you get some good 91 octane in the car

I've read that we lose only 5hp going from 91 to 87 and torque remains the same. That makes me think 0-60 might be the same but 1/4 a bit slower with lower octane.. but I dunno, just guessing. It's also cold here so maybe the cold air is gaining back the HP? Does dragy compensate for weather? I would imagine?

I'll keep trying to get my time lower using different techniques. I tried Eco mode and ran 4.8 I think lol. Not bad!

I don’t think the draggy does anything to the time using the weather. Just what the real world time is where you are. And cold air should always make more power but it also makes tires less likely to want to hook.

Check your DA on draggy, it’s a function of altitude, humidity and temp. If you’re not traction limited at launch, a lower DA will equal faster 0-60. @Vortex951 and I are stuck with a DA of 5000+ so we are slowwww. But so is everyone else around us :p Once you switch to 91 in the summer you might not see as big a performance gain as you expect since temps will be up as well. A good test would be switching to 91 for one tank still during winter and running the dragy ;) I would love to see that, for a true 87 to 91 comparison

I found a website that translates speed, time, and da to a sea level time. Not sure how accurate it is but it is quite a difference from what I actually ran lol
